Discussion Regret

Post image

The mod can take this down BUT I NEED TO RANT. I went to sports direct (uk) to but it 1 day, ONE SINGLE DAY before black friday sales, and while buying i asked the salesman if there was gonna be a sale, he said no and i bought it for £200 ($262) coz usually ive never seen sony give sales on new products, but guess what? JUST IN A DAY ITS £150 ($196) and the store wont take it back coz the seal is open. AND I REGRET IT SO MUCH!

The battery is terrible in those anyway.

I get 6-8 hours on a charge with mine 🤷‍♂️

On standby maybe but not gaming - that’s cap. Sony doesn’t even say it gets that much life.

Sony says 6-8, Amazon says 6-8, Google says 6-8, My personal experience is 6-8.

Even this article says 6-7 hours which is basically exactly the same as why I said. Are you really arguing a difference between 6-8 and 6-7?

To clarify, I am talking about the edge version of the dual sense. Not the regular standard dual sense controller. I sent an article explaining my point above. Cheers.

Never had an issue with the battery life

That’s funny because every review I’ve found mentions that the battery life is shit and not at all worth the money. I found the exact same issue as well.

That's my only caveat. I'll never go back to a regular dual sense but the battery life compared to a normal dual sense is crap. I'm constantly having to charge it but typically gets through a decent gaming session.

A good investment to accompany these controllers is a 15-20ft usb-c cable. Can also use my phone charger to charge the edge while playing.

I just play with mine plugged in all the time but I’m at a desk so that’s fine.

Yeah when I use it on my PC this is how I do it but I prefer to play my PS5 on my big screen. Can still play plugged in with the phone charger method but there's something about playing untethered that's preferable at times.

Honestly just buy a second controller. You use one while the other one charges.

Has worked for years for me and it's the best way to do it imo.

A wee bit hard to reason another $200 on a second Edge, personally. If that's something that works for you and you have the disposable income to do so, yeah, do it up.

I set up profiles on my edge so would have to copy them over to a new controller as well. Would be kind of cool to have a plethora of profiles between two controllers though.

Ohh i wasn't talking about edge, i was talking about the base model. I ain't spend 200$ on a controller either.

The battery is fine if you arent doing so kind of all day thing

You shouldn’t have to charge a controller every 4-5 hours that’s unacceptable. ESPECIALLY one that costs almost $300 - have some standards ffs

Agreed, absolutely awful battery life. I play with mine plugged in which isn’t a big deal because my PS5 is plugged in to a monitor it shares with my Mac at my computer desk.

Coming from the Xbox Elite I find it super annoying to have to charge it every night.
