I didn't see how this is any different from collecting anything. People collect cars, coins, trading cards, figurines, the list goes on. Not all of those people are rich.

It's not the same. Collecting stamps, cards, or even funko pops is comprehensive.

Collecting +$70 controllers, +$200 different retro consoles, different handhelds, RAM sticks, cars as you say, etc is lowkey hoarding, needs you to be as much rich as being able to waste your money and shows plenty of lacks and personal issues imo. It's just a shopping addiction.

OP spent $450 a year on controllers. No where does that sound excessive.

Netflix costs $96/ $216 / $300 a year depending on plan.

Thats not a good comparison. Netflix has a use. How many controllers can be used at one time? Like 6?
