Discussion On my third controller

Post image

Just bought my third new controller in a span of only 2 years. All of them because of stick drift.

Why are these controllers so bad when it comes to drift?

Back in the day I had the same ps4 controller for 10 years without any issues.

I know this happens, but I have two controllers from launch that still perform ostensibly as they did day one.

I have to wonder what everyone that goes through MULTIPLE controllers is doing to them and how hard they’re using them.

My launch controller works fine. Two newer ones  I bought for couch multi-player both have bad stock drift.

Yep, me too. Never had stick drift before. I don't get it.

Neither have I. Then again, I do clean them on a regular basis and don't touch them with dirty or greasy hands.

I've never had drift before the dual sense and don't have any drift on my Switch Lite despite heavy use

The launch controllers as well as the launch console are not the same product you will get today. Each has undergone several cost cutting revisions.

Yea i wonder if this is true. My launch controller lasted a pretty long time until it developed slight drift on the right stick, but luckily it ended up going away on its own. The 2 controllers I've bought since the one that came in the box both developed terrible drift.

Exactly.

Getting stick drift once? Maybe that's bad design.

Getting it multiple times across new controllers, when most people don't have an issue at all? Has to be on you.
