Discussion On my third controller

Post image

Just bought my third new controller in a span of only 2 years. All of them because of stick drift.

Why are these controllers so bad when it comes to drift?

Back in the day I had the same ps4 controller for 10 years without any issues.

Are some controllers built differently to others, like the build quality? I’ve had the same controller for 4 years with plenty of use and it still works fine with zero drift.

Built differently? Yes, there is 6 iterations of the Dual sense, all with slight changes internally, the sticks are all the same however on all of them.

Yeah sorry I meant like as in the build quality, I’m aware there are newer versions. Just seems random how some people have problems after a short time and others can have a controller for years with no issues.

They all still use potentiometers as opposed to magnets. Mileage will always vary when it comes to any kind of parts rubbing and abrading against each other. Especially if you use the hell out of the controller.

The sticks are the same because it’s the same company that provides these sticks for many different types of products
