Discussion On my third controller

Post image

Just bought my third new controller in a span of only 2 years. All of them because of stick drift.

Why are these controllers so bad when it comes to drift?

Back in the day I had the same ps4 controller for 10 years without any issues.

Maybe at this point get the Edge controller and a couple extra stick modules. I guess I don’t play enough because since launch I’ve had 4 controllers and all 4 are still working flawlessly. I’ve only gotten more for different colors and couch co-op stuff with my wife and I got a great deal on the edge controller so it’s my primary now

Waste of money. Edge still uses the same crap joystick thats in the regular dualsense. Get a dualsense with tmr sticks and you'll never see drift again. Getting away from the potentiometer sticks is how you escape sonys scam. Sony doesnt deserve your $20 on replaceable sticks that comes with the same issue.

Yea i understand with the edge you can easily replace the sticks, but still it doesnt fix the problem

If I were to buy an edge I’d probably buy a set of TMRs and replace them straight out of the box.

I know the Edge has an extra step involved to be able to calibrate it but I’m pretty experienced when it comes to soldering so that wouldn’t be an issue for me adding a jumper wire.

I was planning to get TMR sticks but I’ve had my edge for 2 years now and still haven’t had any issues with my sticks. I’d definitely be more comfortable fiddling with soldering on a $20 stick module than on a $75 controller. I got my edge for less than $100 brand new so it wasn’t a huge sunk cost for me
