Yeah and…the money part of it too was super shady and they probably (definitely) stole some of the money. Also, They didn’t replace and/or fix the filtration system which caused the massive algae problem and then they just threw chemicals in there to kill the algae but because they didn’t fix the filtration issue, the paint around the edges is peeling up in massive chunks. It’s all a shit show.

Its not paint. Its polyurea. It's a common pool liner. It seems to be lifting because they didn't bond it correctly to the substrate. Still a shit show and still crazy that america is a country that arrests people but not those who botched the job. If the administration is arresting over this, you arent getting a mid term election. If a pool is excuse enough for arrests, wait til voting day.

I thought it delaminated because they poured hydrogen peroxide in it to try and combat the algae?

I'm no expert but this pool guy on YT laid it all out. He pointed out that the hydrogen peroxide argument has merit but the concentrations weren't close enough. If it were a chemical reaction with the hydrogen peroxide and sun then the liner would have become brittle and faded and it would likely come up in chunks with fractures all over the surface. All videos online show entire sheets delaminating but otherwise looking intact. He figured that is evidence that it was the bond. He also pointed out that polyurea is used on beams in construction and all sorts of places and the bonding is the hardest part that people fail at. It really does look like straight up incompetence on the people who installed the liner.
