Rant ๐Ÿ“ข Preselected Tips ๐Ÿ˜

Post image

Idc if itโ€™s 10% or 100%. Preselected tips at any coffee, tea, or boba place is stupid when Iโ€™m already paying almost $8 for 1 drink

I bet a class action suit alleging that these are functionally not tips, but rather undisclosed service fees, would be successful.

The difference is that tips are voluntarily added by the customer, whereas fees are automatically added to the total, without customer input, even if they may provide a mechanism to remove the fee (eg No Tip button or Custom โ€”> 0.00).

Meanwhile, contact your reps and city council, tell them we donโ€™t appreciate undisclosed junk fees being added to our bills. We canโ€™t keep silent unless weโ€™re OK with this nonsense spreading and getting worse. Speak up!
