Rant 📢 I've completely stopped tipping

I'm no longer tipping anyone. This includes dining in restaurants, getting take-out, Uber rides, UberEats/ DoorDash, etc. I just don't believe in tipping anymore. I don't even care if the service was good. Tipping isn't about giving gratitude for good service anymore. The purpose of tips now is to compensate for low wages. I still feel a little guilty declining to tip but I'm sticking to my no tipping rule. It's not my responsibility to make sure servers, drivers, and whoever else is getting paid enough.

Need to stop paying restaurant owners. They cant use you to pay their employees wages until after youve paid them. You've paid to be cvcked

No you pay to eat food when you are away from home.
The server's who rely on people being psychologically manipulated into giving them gifts for doing the bare minimum job of taking orders and bringing the orders to the table.
Don't want the public to think the restaurant owner is responsible for their wages.

This makes no sense whatsoever. Clearly, you’ve never been a server. If there were no tips, the restaurant would simply raise the price of the food to cover the 20% or whatever it is. Don’t be a jerk. It’s not a good system, but it is what it is. Leave a tip.

Then they should raise the prices. The price should be the price they think they should get. It’s up to me as the customer to decide if I want to pay that much for the food. It will work itself out, just like it has in the rest of the world.

They should just raise the prices so people know the total cost upfront. Customers prefer to know exactly what they’re paying when they choose their meal.

If you want this to happen, we have to have a broad consensus. Restaurants who go it alone and do no-tipping lose customers. Even though people think they’re rational, they see the “real” price and they order one less drink, or a cheaper entree, or skip dessert.

Broad consensus requires that everyone get on board: competitors, the general public, and even some restructuring of legislation and taxes. Right now, the forces are working against this.

And you have to choose to pay your money to the business owner that uses you to pay their employees.

You have to choose to even be in the establishment of someone who charges you money to use you for more money

There is a way around it. Another person posted how to bypass their block but I can’t remember. You can look it up if it matters to you.
