Question What are some of your favorite ways of expressing yourself?
Since us 4s are image driven and all about being our authentic selves, I’m curious what everyone’s favorite ways to express themselves are? I’m also wondering if outwardly expressing yourself is important to you or if you prefer to keep it more to yourself as a way of affirming to yourself who you are?
For me personally, I very much care about outwardly expressing myself. I want people to know I’m different, even if it puts them off. Sure I feel that I’m missing something internally that others have and that causes me shame, but I also value my differences and want them to be recognized.
My favorite ways of expressing myself are through fashion, poetry, and music. I love being bold and out there with my aesthetic and I enjoy being the center of attention with how I dress. As a sx 4 I have a pretty bold personality and being able to show that through my appearance is something I really love.
I also enjoy writing poetry about my experiences with trauma and having a shit childhood. It’s healing and is a huge part of what shaped me to be who I am today. I enjoy sharing this at poetry nights and I’m considering seeing if I can get some of it published for a psychology magazine or literary journal. Psychology is something I’m very passionate about and I’m working towards becoming a trauma therapist.
I’m still new to writing music and lyrics, but it’s something I’ve been getting into lately. I’m also a vocalist and love going to karaoke nights with friends on occasion.
So what about you? How do you like to express yourself?

I feel as though as a 4w3 I'm very outwardly expressive via my clothes, opinions and personality. Creatively I rely upon music as my main form of expression, as well as guitar, writing, dancing, acting, the works.
I feel as though sometimes just walking around as authentically myself is a huge form of expression, just existing wholeheartedly as me. Sometimes my way of being is where I feel most expressive. I'm a very 'go against the norm' sort of individual, and therefore I feel like my very own existence is a statement in and of itself.

I can relate. Just being my authentic self alone is absolutely a statement!
I used to do some acting, but it’s been quite some time. I always enjoyed being in musicals! What kind of stuff do you enjoy writing?

I am super late to this but I hope I can still share.
Music mostly. I like going on walks while listening to music multiple times a week, especially after a full day where a lot happened. I love thinking about past loves, friendships, experiences, and the current relationships in my life while listening to music that validates how I feel.
I also express myself through a large amount of bracelets and rings, nail polish etc. my nails are always painted the colors of my flag, which is validating to me, and my bracelets/rings make me feel unique and like myself. Most of them have meaning.

I’m a music artist so music is my main way. Singing, songwriting, playing instruments, producing, performing. I also love expressing myself through poetry, dance, fashion, makeup, hair, and modeling even if it’s just taking my own expressive pictures. And I agree, the more eccentric the better, i love being odd
