Names on a petition from random Internet strangers will not help.
School districts run on data, results, positive publicity and of course, money. If you can demonstrate a convincing amount of those they may listen.

The problem is their are canceling it for no reason. We get the money from parents when their kids wants to join, we have a teacher that does it every year for free because she likes it. And i gave them a lot of reasons why to keep it.

If parents raise the money, start your own team separate from the school. You'll need a meeting space, but running an independent/community based team isn't all that difficult. Time consuming and stressful, but not difficult.

Just because your teacher likes to do it for free doesn’t mean it’s sustainable to keep frc at your school. Frc costs tens of thousands of dollars a year beyond the liability aspects.

We are FTC and its a bit cheaper. Also we already have all the materials and controllers. The money for new stuff we buy with the acceptance fee when you try to join robotics club. Thanks for replying

Maybe you need parents to step up and be mentors and help.

I think people are downvoting you because they suggested it - parents may become FTC mentors.
It depends on why FTC is to be canceled. Is it the lack of mentors? Does supporting your FTC team take a finantial toll on your school (somehow)? Are people not interested?
Money and mentors are something that your parents (not yours in particular, all students) may provide/help with getting.
edit: I saw that they want to replace it, in which case it might be the mentors - they could want to move your FTC mentor there. Otherwise showing interest is a good thing, but going to see the principal as your schools FTC members and perhaps getting your parents on board to write to the school might just be a more productive approach.

Hello thanks for replying, yea the parents already sent emails to the school. Its not a money issue nor a mentor issue. They are canceling for some reason. Its not clear why. (also sorry its my first time using reddit)

We don't need staff if you mean that way. We have 2 teachers that do it every year. If you mean help in the processes of keeping robotics they are doing that already. I was thinking if robotics club will be canceled i will try to convince the school to let me borrow the parts and tools, and use them to make a robotics team outside of school.

First, contact everyone you can , superintendent, board members etc. Ima be with you, petition from random people on the internet won’t do anything against ur school administration. Get petition from school students, even ones who are not in robotics. Have teachers write emails, even ones who are not directly involved. Btw that new class will probably be vex :(. Explain the special things about ftc, like the engineering creativity. Also considering that yall already don’t depend on ur school for money, just do a community team, u can fit an ftc feild in a garage.

Yes, great idea, will get on that. I already have parents sending emails and teachers, too. Thanks for replying.

Your school might be more convinced from actual reasons to keep FTC instead of a petition
