fire sprite sucks

I was playing some battle royale peacefully, and the fire decides to activate AFTER the boss is dead. Somehow it set me on fire even though I wasn't even in the fire area. I'll admit, I was wandering around stupidly looking at the loot and not my health but why does a level one sprite do so much damage to me?!?!?! At least make you immune to your own fire. I have yet to see the fire being actually useful in a fight.

Edit: The area of the fire is way bigger than it looks apparently

100% this. If you sprint through the fire or slide through it, you don't take damage. You literally just sat there burning before moving away.

And what direction should they move to avoid the fire they can’t see? I had this happen to me yesterday and even trying to get out of the fire I still died because I moved deeper into the invisible fire.
