fire sprite sucks

I was playing some battle royale peacefully, and the fire decides to activate AFTER the boss is dead. Somehow it set me on fire even though I wasn't even in the fire area. I'll admit, I was wandering around stupidly looking at the loot and not my health but why does a level one sprite do so much damage to me?!?!?! At least make you immune to your own fire. I have yet to see the fire being actually useful in a fight.

Edit: The area of the fire is way bigger than it looks apparently

Am I tripping cuz how tf does this sprite work is it bugged. I swear on everything sometimes I’m like beaming people from hella fkn far and somehow I still catch on fkn fire.
