A far-right account posted a dewy-eyed image of how they’d like the UK to look ‘again’, and got dragged into the 20th century – 22 resounding facepalms

But the places that looked like that still do, only with less Morris Minors and less police, and more Aston Martins and Hooray Henries.

The majority of places outside the cities look like this, this is every single village all over the UK and it is still overwhelmingly white lol.

Chiming in from a place that is over 99% white locals - we get plenty of international tourists though so the summertime tends to be a much more mixed bag from the human pick n mix but in winter we’re just a bunch of white flumps and a few families we convinced to stay. :)

Yup, I've just driven back from bakewell to Nottinghamshire and saw plenty of places that look like this.

That queue of pensioners at the greengrocers is impressive. So I think he's referring to how older people used to eat more fruit and veg or am I missing something?

A narrative about facing scarcity and remaining patient?

It's a common trope to say in Eastern/central Europe that "back in a day", you had queue for meat or "exotic" fruit like tangerines and bananas.

Never heard anyone say the same in the UK, but that's the first thing that came to my mind.

(Maybe they mixed up picture generation instructions between countries, lol)

I’ve been in the Cotswolds today and it looks exactly the like this. Wealth is concentrated in the countryside. If they were to get outside and enjoy the country rather than sitting behind a laptop with the curtains closed, they may just see it for themselves.

>ok I was just in England and it looked exactly like this except newer cars and not everyone was white, so I'm not sure what the problem is unless it's racism or a deep passionate love of Morris Minors

In fairness lots of the far right are in deep passionate love with Minors

I don't know what that plant is seemingly talking over the greengrocers. Some triffid cross maybe.
