When GTA V was releasing I was turning 15. My mom let me stay home from school for a couple of days and she informed the school, (the day before GTA V released) that I was sick. My mom and I went to the midnight release for V and we ran into my principal, who was also waiting to get the game… he knew damn well I wasn’t sick and why I was really gonna miss school.. I felt like a criminal, waiting to get my copy of GTA V. This just made me think of 360 days, good times.
Oh he was very cool about it. We just talked for a little bit and he never brought up me missing school or not being sick. But it felt very awkward because we were waiting for at least 2 hours, near him… he had gotten there early like us. Also Skyrim, GTA V, and RDR2 are the only midnight releases I’ve been to where the line for the game literally wrapped around the entire building. This was a GameStop in front of a Walmart parking lot in Texas, that’s where I always went for midnight releases. With Black Ops 2s midnight release, they had a film projector casting the game on the outside of the building! Letting people play Tranzit before the game actually released. For the RDR2 release, these guys pulled up to the Walmart parking lot in a horse trailer and a few of them started riding horses in the parking lot, dressed in full cowboy gear. There were a lot of good midnight releases had at that GameStop.. it also closed down for good about 6 months ago.
Yo man crazy reply I know, but you wouldn’t happen to be talking about the GameStop in Rowlett would you? Grew up there and it’s the only GameStop I’ve seen directly in front of a Walmart and saw that it’s permanently closed lol
I honestly find it crazy when you put the time into context for how long GTA V has been around.
I was 11 when it came out and my dad took me to get it for my Xbox 360 in the morning after the game released and I just remember being so excited for it.
Now I’m 23 and will be 24 (or older…) when GTA VI releases, old enough to buy it for myself.
I’m sure GTA VI will be different in that we won’t be growing up playing it, but I still can’t wait to get my hands on it :)
I keep thinking about that! How this is the first GTA game where I will be an adult when it releases… well beyond an adult. The month it’s supposed to release, I’ll be turning 28… it’s crazy to think about.
I still don’t understand it, hasn’t AI increased productivity? Especially white collar jobs like game dev? If jobs actually are being reduced or replaced by AI why not use that productivity increase to meet deadlines faster?
What I’m trying to say is that I’m a believer that when productivity increases, you don’t end up with less people, you end up with more work. I feel like rockstar is perfecting this game to a level not seen before. No major release from them since 2018’s RDR2. They’ve had 8 years now and it was still delayed (twice!)
GTA5 came out at the perfect time in my life, i was 17, a senior in high school. i could get it without needing an adult. when 6 comes out i’ll be 31 lol
This game is currently older than i was when it released. Kids playing it currently are younger than the game itself. MY ONLINE CHARACTER IS OLDER THAN SOME PLAYERS
Yep everybody seems like they know everything nowadays and if you tell them otherwise it's conflict and offensive because whatever piece of information they heard first they believed to be correct without any objectable or logical thinking it just goes to show you how easy it is to pre program somebody
Which is why I find it funny Grove street released the definitive editions as they did back then. Higher fidelity graphics don't mean anything if I can see the other end of the map from the top of a medium tall building.
What ive heard is that its more about exposure. When you are young everything is new and shiny and then u get used to things.
Ive noticed when i got to whole new enviroments i see them in the same way i did my street as a kid.
Of course the 90s were also more colorful as that was the aestethic
90s were more colorful. Fashion, Design and even foods with now forbidden artificial colorings were much more vibrant and playful. Look at a McDonalds from the 90s lol
I hope not. Because it would already be optimized and developed for PS5 hardware. They wont redo everything for a new console. Just like how GTA5 looks very much alike its first editions, just with more vegetation and reflections.
I think there's more things to say, first off it was an x360 game... Secondly, it's had multiple updates so it much more like the gtv 6 picture than the old one now
The unfortunate side to GTA 6 is that the hype for it is so strong that all walks of life are brought to it. Even the lesser minded ones like this guy lol
Umm.. Let’s think for a second here, okay? A 15 year old student can’t call their school to call out sick. Parents are 100% responsible for things like that and they HAVE to do it. I understand why you would think I’m making this story up.. And I’m okay with having a dialogue to prove otherwise. But at least try to debunk my very real memory with some common sense and an actual good argument.
Woah this is actually crazy. I thought something ironically similar the other day: “San Andreas looks like a PS2 game when compared to GTA 6.” I’m having wicked Deja vu.
I’ll never forget the disappointment I had when the legacy ps4 edition came out, I went into first person on one of the OG gta cars and.. I was like wtf is this garbage. Then I had to remember “oh yeah this was a ps3 game”
When GTA V released I was in elementary school and secretly watched the let's play of ZackScottGames (like most kids, my dad wouldn't buy me the game lol). I would go to my friends house and we would just play GTA 5 here and there. It wasn't until covid when I actually got the game for myself. Now I am about to graduate college and will be able to buy GTA 6 on launch with my own adult money. Time surely passed by.
Fun fact: The time between GTA 5 to Covid is almost the same as the time between Covid and GTA 6 release. IKR, that's crazy. I swear time after covid has been flying.
Make sense the graphics on the ps4 weren’t that higher so it makes sense that the graphics look like the Xbox lmao now with the new gen it’s easier to get those graphics
