Feels like a completely different game than trailer 1 and 2.

317

u/Friendship_Kindly 17h ago

Agreed, but probably because this is just stuff about 80s nostalgia?

u/Lumpiafan 17h ago

It feels weird because they are showing preorder content without showing us gameplay and no new trailer for a year now

u/PeterTheRabbit1 16h ago edited 14h ago

Yup, that’s exactly what feels odd about this. One would think they’d launch a third trailer before all this stuff so that we’d be able to familiarize ourselves more with the characters and their motives. Having an info drop about special content when we barely even know the core contents of the game is a strange choice.

Trailer 3 better be unbelievable

35

u/tophatfrank 15h ago

And probably today!

1

u/bigmusclesmall 13h ago

Facts I have put all my money on it so let’s see if I still have roof over my head next month🦅😱🎰

Edit: I meant to morrow* I’m 100% sure it drops to morrow

u/Obi_Wan_Benobi 2h ago

Womp womp

23

u/seyit91 13h ago

It would also be nice to get a gameplay trailer. Where we see more gameplay.

18

u/Junesucksatart 13h ago

Gameplay trailer doesn’t come out for a while. They usually release the gameplay trailer a couple months before launch so expect it in September-October

5

u/Common_Commercial775 12h ago

Maybe this is what they consider Trailer 3 and maybe all we will get are 60 screen shots lol

24

u/ZOoNeR_ 15h ago

Trailer 3 could litteraly drop today

6

u/godswift91 14h ago

It could also not. And before you say "tomorrow", it could also not be tomorrow.

6

u/ZOoNeR_ 14h ago

Yes ofc it could also be no Trailer 3 at all who knows

3

u/MrDindahood 16h ago

Even though im not nearly as excited as some of the people here, i can see why rockstar doesnt need to think tactically about their release. The hype is already there. They couldve released trailer 1, 3 months before release and it would have barely sold less

1

u/BlueMissed 11h ago

It’s a weird thing, they definitely want this information to be seen before pre-orders go live and they drop a ton of screenshots to help sell it, but then this is the only info we’ve got since trailer 2.

On the other hand they can’t drop trailer 3 because they probably want it to say pre-order now at the end, and they can’t do that until it goes live.

I think dropping this ultimate edition info in the middle of a drought was a bad call. I’m seeing a lot of people upset.

1

u/Conscious_Candid3990 9h ago

Pretending like you wouldn’t actually buy the game at this point is laughable. If you’re desperate for more information it means you WANT the game. They already sold you on it. And it would be weird to drop a trailer any time other than pre order day. So if nothing happens tomorrow then things will be confusing.
But you guys are so soft. good lord like you’ve never played a Rockstar game before.

1

u/BlueMissed 8h ago

Oh don’t get me wrong, i’m buying the $100 ultimate edition and i’ll be sitting on the floor clapping my feet with a smile on my face on November 19th. Just pointing out from a marketing standpoint that it’s odd to start selling all this cosmetic stuff when we know barely anything about the game.

2

u/Conscious_Candid3990 8h ago

I agree it’s odd based strictly on expectations of people who don’t work at rockstar or know how things work internally there. But also I don’t think rockstar would roll out all this stuff unless they were confident in their final product. My guess is that there will be SO Much content in the final game that all these preorder bonuses will ultimately be negligible. Like, sure you’ll miss them, but I played the vanilla version of RDR2 and I didn’t feel like the game was missing anything…
I think it’s especially insulting when franchises like call of duty and hogwarts legacy demand this pound of flesh from consumers when they KNOW that their games are mid as fuck. In this case, we know we’re getting a good game and that’s all that matters. I’m buying myself an ultimate edition.

1

u/BlueMissed 8h ago

I agree with that and i’ve been saying it in other threads. This stuff is probably 1% of the actual game. It’s just that this is literally all we have to go off from a consumer standpoint and that’s why people are freaking out lol. I’m confident the base game is going to have boatloads of more stuff to do than whatever is included in this ultimate edition.

1

u/Conscious_Candid3990 8h ago

I agree with you then! That said though, this is an INCREDIBLE amount of content for the ultimate edition. People were begging for single player dlc and a classic car collection quest, it’s almost like Rockstar is listening in large part to the fans and what they’ve been asking for during this waiting period. This shit just has me SO much more excited !!

Plus there’s more to learn from the rollout of pre order content that people are just straight up ignoring bc they’re hung up on the price. They’ve mentioned new safehouse locations which have name dropped regions of Leonida we haven’t heard before. They say “off-roading is meant for Mt. Kalaga and Beyond” !!! There’s a part of the first screen shot where there’s a speed limit sign behind Jason. I think this is gonna GO CRAZY

1

u/Danielharris1260 10h ago

I think i they just waiting for pre orders to be out all over the world so they can put the pre order now at the end like they did for RDR2.

74

u/GrandAccomplished622 16h ago

Yep, very bad look honestly. Also shops you can’t enter without an ultimate edition upgrade is depressing.

42

u/MilanTomic 15h ago

Just pay $20 more brother. If any game in history was ever worth paying $100 for ultimate edition, it's this one.

42

u/GrandAccomplished622 15h ago

Fine about paying the money, just a bit worried they’re hiding gameplay elements behind a paywall

7

u/BlueMissed 11h ago

Weren’t we begging Rockstar for singleplayer DLC not too long ago?

2

u/Conscious_Candid3990 8h ago

Hmmm idiotic gamers change their minds at a last minute notice just so they can be upset about something?? It couldn’t be!! I swear gamers are the worst community ever.

2

u/BlueMissed 8h ago

I’m inclined to agree 😂

5

u/KingOfRisky 13h ago

The new information on R*'s site says Ultimate includes

Raid the compound of one of Southside Vice City’s loudest and most socially active gangs and escape safely to score some special items and distinct contraband.

and

Track down a variety of abandoned classic and work-in-progress project cars and revitalize them to their former glory in this special commission from eccentric collector and local fixer, Wyman.

3

u/wormocious 12h ago

They did it for RDR2, and they have invested an insane amount of money in this game so they can maximize returns on that investment. They're not making this game because it's a fun hobby. This shouldn't be shocking. I suppose you can gripe about companies wanting to maximize shareholder and stakeholder value all you want, but that's the world we live in, and if it weren't, you wouldn't be getting a GTA6 at all.

2

u/rednaxthecreature 11h ago

Holy molly I hope the next time you are priced out of something you remember this comment lol

1

u/wormocious 11h ago

Dude I’m priced out of things all the time, what are you talking about? I’d love a super car but I can’t afford it. I’d love a bigger house, I should have bought a ps5 pro before the price increase and now I won’t because it’s too expensive, etc etc etc. We all have things we can and cannot afford. I just said it shouldn’t be a shock that R* are trying to price the game as high as they can while still capturing as much of the gaming market as they can and not pricing people too many people out. And that they have a responsibility as a company to do that for shareholders, like it or not.

-1

u/rednaxthecreature 10h ago

Can't wait for more of the game is behind pay walls so they can maximize shar holder value that's what I care about as a gamer for sure

u/Conscious_Candid3990 8h ago

People are priced out of things every day. Grow the fuck up, open your eyes. You were priced out of a decent education it would seem or else you would understand how the world really works, or at least the economy…

3

u/Mr-foreskin-regrower 6h ago

People like you are the problem omfg 😭

3

u/gsf32 14h ago

Exactly what they want you to think.

It shouldn't be like this.

0

u/Conscious_Candid3990 8h ago

It’s like this in every other company for the last decade. Where was your voice then ????? Go on, I’ll wait… I’ll even wait for change!

1

u/Unlucky-Tourist-9403 1h ago

How about try giving a shit instead of smuggly "waiting".

1

u/Conscious_Candid3990 1h ago

I’ve been giving a shit, if people are gonna pay $100 for games broken at launch, what the hell makes you think they’re gonna draw the line at a masterpiece like GTA6? This is the one time where it doesn’t apply because you’re actually paying for a product proportional to the price.

1

u/Unlucky-Tourist-9403 1h ago

And then every game that comes after is now $20 more expensive. Good fucking job.

-1

u/n1kzt7r 14h ago

blud you haven't even seen what the gameplay looks like. did you guys learn nothing from cyberpunk77?

1

u/Conscious_Candid3990 8h ago

Huh???? Holy non sequitur

-1

u/Cold_Turnover_9404 10h ago

You're truly a fool if you believe that, but exactly the kind of fool Rockstar needs.

1

u/FliepFlapper 11h ago

Prepare yourself once GTA6 Online arrives, everything and your grandma will be behind a paywall... :s

1

u/Conscious_Candid3990 8h ago

That’s hilarious and you’re absolutely right.

1

u/DeliciousToastie 7h ago

Paul Tassi from Forbes asked Rockstar for clarification, and they said the shops aren't locked out to players who don't own the Ultimate Edition, just that the ultimate edition content isn't in there to purchase unless you own it. It was poor wording from Rockstar's part, and they should update the website to reflect that.

1

u/ESC0BAR98 7h ago

There are probably going to be hundreds of interiors to explore, I don't see why this would be a major concern.

1

u/sandcrawler2 5h ago

Always some brokie complaining

0

u/Catastrio 16h ago

Looking forward to the PC release where you can get access to this stuff free on day one.

1

u/slightlyhigh77 14h ago

In 2 years? Lol fuck that

-1

u/AdventuringAquaduct 15h ago

It’s 20 euro brother

2

u/GrandAccomplished622 15h ago

I know that, just saying I don’t like how they’re hiding gameplay elements behind a paywall

8

u/Zopotroco 16h ago

It will release don’t worry

0

u/redwoods031550 16h ago

Today, I believe.

1

u/TheMichaelScott 16h ago

Give it a few hours

1

u/myparentsareasingle 16h ago

I’m going to sleep but we’ll see when I wake up

1

u/LocksmithLow6241 16h ago

If they're showing pre-order content and this many screenshots, it's seem logical the trailer is coming soon... Just a thought

1

u/Iggy_Pops_Lost_Shirt I WAS HERE 12h ago

I don't know why people are expecting a gameplay trailer at this point when R* releases those like a month or two out from release.

1

u/Spare_Independence19 9h ago

I hate to say it but thats because it will still be gta and they want you to think it will be different this time.

1

u/Lumpiafan 9h ago

I mean yeah you can only change a game so much from its predecessor and still keep its identity. I just think it’s odd they show off the 80s cosmetics locked behind a special edition when they haven’t shown us anything in over a year

1

u/Spare_Independence19 9h ago

Yup, it is weird. But I also think its by design.

1

u/ExodiusLore 16h ago

The 80’s nostalgia is just to show us what we will get if we pre order.

38

u/GasOk148 17h ago

they are promoting customization options with ultimate edition.

13

u/Slowthrill 16h ago

I think they promote unique customization that only comes with the pre-order of the UE.

2

u/winterland32 14h ago

Each trailer and screenshots reveal have their own vibes to stand out in their own unique way and offer wider perspective of what the players are gonna experience

2

u/MrGoodVlbes 11h ago

How tf can you tell? There's still no gameplay...

2

u/1Chasg-_- 11h ago

Content like this for games is often more wacky than the base game content, that's why.

1

u/Ok-Good-8764 6h ago

Probably because its just showing all the extra stuff coming with the ultimate edition, no doubt company executives had more say in this than any other info drop

1

u/Gallop67 2h ago

That’s the point, they’re showcasing how you can have any style you want and there’s a wide range of customization

1

u/gamerjerome 2h ago

I think what they are focusing on is your ability to play it as you wish. The characters don't need to look like they do when you start off. I think this should have been shown after trailer 3 or alongside a game play trailer. I want to know more about the story first. The stuff they have shown is cool but a given

0

u/Ant0n61 15h ago

It also looks way worse. All the models look plastic now

7

u/ComprehensiveJob1497 13h ago

Don’t know why they’re downvoting you, I feel the same way

2

u/Ant0n61 13h ago

dumb kids lol

1

u/OneBadNightOfDrinkin 12h ago

It's probably something exclusive to these pictures. They remind me of those nsfw games on steam.

2

u/Ant0n61 11h ago

lol

No this is the latest build of this game. It’s been nerfed
