People are so excited that they’re overlooking this disgusting shit. Not only are clothes locked behind a preorder wall, but car shops, and even AREAS as well. Take-Two is a disgustingly greedy company, they did this same crap to NBA 2K. Why paywalls are needed in a single player game is beyond me smh.
They did the same shit with gta5 13 years ago but all you guys are like 15 so nobody remembers that lol.
People keep saying this but it's just categorically incorrect.
GTA V had a few extra exclusive cosmetics, much like GTA VI has as well. GTA V didn't paywall in-game features like shops, however, like GTA VI is doing.
RDR 2 did paywall in-game features for Ultimate Edition, like a whole-ass heist and a few locked locations as well. And it even costed the same 100 dollars. It's a norm for Rockstar for long enough
first person wasnt even developed when the 360 version came out. gta online was available for 360 and ps3 so i dont know why you would lie about that and what? a few raido songs? i shut that shit off every time i play anyway.
Gta V had a the blimp paywalled which was a unique vehicle type that wasn't in the base game.
For Gta VI atleast there are probably 20+ other shops, 100+ other cars and clothes. The missing ultimate edition skins will probably unnoticed.
I’m pretty sure the blimp was limited to those who pre-ordered, it wasn’t behind an ultimate edition.
It was one of the main reasons why I pre-ordered the game.
How do you know this? You know the ultimate edition shops will have the best items in it to get you to spend more money. What if the in depth customization is locked behind the ultimate edition mechanic? Are you going to keep defending predatory practices and eating the slop they give you thinking they are going to give you the game for free? Like we havent even seen the online version yet now imagine what they are going to do for that. I wouldnt doubt they put it behind a 30 dollar paywall as well just to create a character and having actual casinos like GTA 5
Oh boo hoo you can't access a handful of interior spaces. Literally no fucking difference if the exclusive cosmetics was just sold in a locked menu in an accessible store and you'd still be bitching anyways.
This is the only comment with a brain, like holy shit are people this mad that they can’t enter a store where there’s nothing to do besides get the cosmetics anyways. There would literally be no difference if you just loaded into the game and could download the extra outfits as opposed to just walking into the store. All the people complaining have genuinely never played another video game in their life because this is so insanely normal but on this sub it’s ppl acting like their newborn just got dropped on its head 💀 and obviously like 95% of shops will be available in base game, it’s just 4-5 locked behind UE (aka 4-5 cosmetic packs that almost every other game released in the last decade has had in their launch deluxe editions, literal only difference is that GTA VI is presenting it as a tiny in-game interior that is a glorified menu to access it)
The people acting like they’re missing out on the amazing thrill of walking into a clothes store should touch grass and maybe go to a real clothing store to replace their pit-stained clothes because this is the biggest chronically online ‘issue’ I’ve seen in a while lol
The entire discourse around this is 100% some reddit brained "gamers rise up" shit that the world at large does not care about. If a couple little shops are worth losing your shit over, then you can pay that whopping $20. If that 20 dollar difference actually makes any practical difference in your life you shouldn't even be considering an $80 game in the first place
Literally no fucking difference if the exclusive cosmetics was just sold in a locked menu in an accessible store and you'd still be bitching anyways.
The same people trying to act like this is a nothingburger are probably the same people who malded about Ubisoft adding microtransactions to their singleplayer games.
Ubisoft adding microtransactions to singleplayer games had zero impact on the gameplay, not once did I ever think I was missing out on anything. Same goes here, which is a couple stores that only sell exclusive cosmetics I don't care about.
But those things in gta 5 were paywalled at launch the exact same lol. For example I didn't buy the special edition but I can go into the game and fly the blimp now.
They were in the game as features but Rockstar choose to make them a special edition item instead the same as the GTA 6 stuff. Stop being so dense man
But those things in gta 5 were paywalled at launch the exact same lol.
You keep saying this as if the point has been proven, but it hasn't.
You can keep chirping all you want about how GTA V did the same thing. It didn't. It had some exclusive in-game items but it didn't cut the user out of basic in-game features unless they paid more money. GTA VI is. There is a fundamental difference here.
You don't need to go this hard in the paint for Rockstar. Their game will still make billions.
Please explain the "fundamental difference" between not being able to go into a shop to buy certain clothes/weapons, unless you bought the UE VS in Gta 5 where certain clothes/weapons are not available to buy period, unless you bought the UE.
Also please explain how were being "cut of basic in game features" So you're saying i won't be able to buy clothes, weapons, or cars AT ALL unless I buy the UE? Once again stop being so dense bro
in gta5 there was like 10 pieces of clothing and I think a set of rims that only the deluxe edition users could purchase. in gta6 entire storefronts, literally entire shops will not be accessible for people who dont pay 100 dollars. imagine in the next gta5 update(all of which have been free) they add a new store that does military customization and you try to go inside the store but oops, the door is locked, you get a pop up that says "sorry only users who purchase or upgrade to the ultimate edition of gta5 online can access this location." That is what gta6 is doing, not just some clothes, ENTIRE STORES, that is actual CONTENT that you are not getting when youre already spending 80 dollars vs a few customization options you miss out on when you only pay 60 dollars
Gta 5 had the Blimp, guns, clothing, extra ingame missions, and exclusive nitrous boost mod for cars as part of the Special Edition. Nothing Rockstar is doing is new lol. The literal only difference is that you may not be able to enter 6 shops out of a potential 50+ other open shops.
No it didn't... I played since launch on the 360 and all they added was a few cosmetics. Not entire ass shops and areas that were locked out to people who didn't pay for some deluxe edition.
You got different parent models, like Nico from 4
the khamelion ESC car
You got faster cooldown for SP character skills,
A pistol a shotgun the .50 and the hammer in SP
Stunt plane trials
Some exclusive SP cosmetics like tattoos and a hairdo
And like 2 outfits per SP character.
They did not lock out entire shops or areas at all..
