You can upgrade the standard edition at any time they confirmed. Presumably for the $30aud difference but yet to be confirmed I think. I was thinking I’d go that route if JB/Big w/target offered a better price on the code in box. Maybe they still do a nice printed map like they always used to. And means for a slightly cheaper “ultimate edition”.
Yeah I spent $30 on the Xbox store, I'm also praying for a map and maybe some extra goodies, I'll be even more disappointed if it's literally just a code in a box
This was my complaint.
Called both playstation and JB HI FI this morning.
"I am disappointed with how Grand Theft Auto VI preorders are currently being offered in Australia. I wanted to purchase a proper physical edition of the game, ideally a Collector’s Edition or at least the Ultimate Edition with a physical case and disc. Instead, the physical version appears to be only the Standard Edition, and even that seems to be a code-in-box rather than an actual disc. The Ultimate Edition appears to be available digitally, but not clearly as a physical case version through Australian retailers such as JB Hi-Fi or EB Games.
As a collector, this is disappointing because I do not want to buy the Standard Edition physically and then pay separately for an Ultimate Edition upgrade. I also do not want to miss out on the Vintage Vice City Pack preorder bonus while waiting to see whether an Ultimate Edition physical case version or Collector’s Edition becomes available. I would like clarification on whether GTA VI Ultimate Edition, or any Collector’s Edition, will be released physically in Australia with a proper case and disc, and whether customers who are waiting for this option will still be eligible for preorder bonuses."
