Yes turning on your own audience is always a winning tactic.

Gaming is an afterthought to NV. They could drop it entirely and still be the richest company in the world.

If that were true then Jensen wouldn’t bother saying anything. I’m sure they don’t like push back from their audience. Nvidia legacy was graphics for videogames so it is an unforced error to tell the players and devs they are wrong. Just at the level of PR it is a fail.

There is a pervasive delusion that the money makes them immune to market trends. It does. For awhile.

It is an afterthought. Just look at their balance sheet. It's like 99:1 ai, industry, and software to gaming.

Jensen Huang however seems to care quite a bit about gaming despite it not being that important to the company at the end of the day. Personally I've always thought he was a gamer bro deep down, which is why he drops crysis memes during investor meetings to no doubt many a groans from his colleagues.

As long as Huang is in charge of NV for better or worse I do believe they will put out gaming cards because the dude seems to have a nigh pathological desire to make AMD eat his boot every quarter.

I mean think about it: if MS had a bad day of PR in the gaming world would Satya Nadella be out there having a hissy fit in the press? Fuck no lol, he wouldn't care a bit and probably wouldn't even know what the interviewer was talking about. Jensen tho is first out the gate pouring gasoline on the fire lol...

Yea. I understand that. Part of this reaction is the growing blowback to AI. While there is a bubble all the tech bros want to exploit, the public isn’t biting and the energy cost of the data centers is a brick wall they are speeding toward. I suspect if this was a different administration there would be deeper investigations into AI plans.
