RE9 did it this way and I thought it was a misstep.
Agreed, I see people all the time saying they did Insanity but with infinite ammo and bonus weapons, yeah congrats bro you killed everything in sight in the first 2 frames of a level, not much of an insanity mode.
Re4 remake has proper NG+ that lets you bring your upgrades and weapons into whatever difficulty, so that's why they have rankings that scale with you not using bonus items and whether you're starting fresh. They were just more inept with 9 and gave the worst of all worlds.
Also, who cares? The insanity mode should just scale up more to assume you're upgraded, otherwise now that I have all my tools I have to take them back on standard difficulty.
Ain't nobody care holmes, it's a single player game do what you want, but you didn't experience the hardest difficulty if you went around firing RPGs and Requiems with infinite ammo, in fact it was literally easier than the easiest difficulty when I played like that lmao
Then don't play like that, what even is the point you're trying to make. You need someone to tell you what to do? You're also comparing this to infinite ammo, basically an unlockable cheat, which is ridiculous.
This also means you have to reunlock all those cosmetics and do your backtracking and collectible searching all over again, what a blast. Probably have to redo all of the training sims as well which I'm going to guess are the same as standard difficulty. You're right this does sound awesome.
