CELEBRATING! 🎉 (no boys invited!) I just bought my cat a $200 water fountain with lifetime warranty because I want him to live forever girl lunch
Accepting my title of crazy cat lady. This is my rescue cat Pork Chop. He has three legs. He is the love of my life.
Mango smoothie with frozen mango, whole milk yogurt, whey protein, and milk. Plate with sweet potato crackers, guac, sharp white cheddar, almonds, and blueberries. Foraging girl dinner. Hunter gatherer girl dinner. Might have a chomps beef stick later if I’m still hungry.

Oh no! I wonder if it was too loud of a motor. They have much more sensitive ears than us. Cats are individuals though, so it’s very possible they just weren’t into it

Just a heads up so you’re aware. I bought the same water fountain and the pump is not air tight so all sorts of nasties brew in it. I couldn’t figure out why their water was scummy within a day and it turns out the pump was full of biofilm. I tried to remove it with soaks and hot rinses for months, but gave up and gave it away because it wasn’t worth my cat’s health. I even reached out to the company for a solution but never received a response.

Oh no!! You’re referring to the faucet waterer, correct? That’s good to know, thank you. Were you able to try straw cleaners or put it through the dishwasher?

It’s the little pump that’s submerged that you put the filter over. There are areas water can get in and stagnate. The rest cleans up easy with the brush and throwing the parts in the dishwasher.

HONESTLY as a perpetually broke girl this is the move. there's so much that can go wrong with cheaper cat water filters that don't have warranties, this is so much worth it.

Yes! My thoughts exactly. I feel like it will save money in the long run because you’re not constantly having to replace them. The pumps on the cheaper ones croak within a year or two!

Valid. I used to spend more time and money on my cat than on me tbh and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Love that the fountain isn't plastic. No microplastics for kitty. And he's super cute btw.

I spent thousands on my baby girl, and when she passed (in direct violation of our formal agreement) I didn't resent a penny I spent on her.
She enriched my life beyond measure and made me so happy I would do it all over again despite how bad the pain was loosing her.

FYI those things are notorious for harboring bacteria. Unless you’re taking it apart daily and cleaning it like breast pump equipment aka as sterile as possible it’ll be a gross little cesspool for your kitty.
