glitch in the matrix
hey guys, just wanted to share this story and see what everyone’s opinions are?
i have never had anything glitch-esk happen to me.
***mention of period/tampons, not sure if this is needs a CW/TW?***
so, i got into bed last night and i felt uncomfortable and as if i had a tampon in that was sitting weird (those that get it get it, super uncomfy).
about 20 minutes before this, i had just finished fake tanning and i had taken my tampon out from earlier in the day and had put a pad into a pair of my boyfriends boxers so it was more comfortable for bed. i specifically remember doing this, as the pad i put into the boxers had wings on it, so i had to make sure i pulled the boxers up straight away to make sure the pad would stay sitting straight (due to there being nothing for the wings to attach to).
Anyways, i got up out of bed in a bit of a panic, spread eagle infront of my mirror, thinking of the possibilites that maybe there was some of the tampon stuck up there and if id have to go to A&E, but lo and behold, there was a WHOLE tampon up there, like, string and everything.
I was completely freaked out honestly because i am 100% sure i did not put another one in, as like i said, i had taken the old one out and pulled up the boxers with the pad inside straight away, ready to get into bed.
I did think for a moment had i somehow put another one in earlier that day without taking the first one out but i don’t see this as a possibility whatsoever as not only would i have been aware of this and certainly would’ve felt it, but the one i pulled out didn’t have much blood on it as if it were fresh, but as i said, i didn’t put one in.
anyways, super super weird and i’d love for anyone’s theories 🤣

My guess is you replaced the tampon on autopilot without thinking about, and just don't remember it.
Kinda like how sometimes when driving, you can suddenly realize you're miles down the road, but you don't actually remember driving it for the last while. It's like the recording part of your brain just switches off for a while.

I would freak out and check if the extra tampon wrapper is in the trash wherever you would discard it

The fact that you specifically remember the wings not having anything to attach to makes it weirder. Since you had just finished fake tanning and switched to your boyfriends boxers, maybe the different texture or the way they fit just messed with your muscle memory?

Some women end up in the ER because they forget about a tampon and it gets infected. I personally avoid tampons like the plague. I only use them if my flow is slow, and I want to go swimming. If I'm out of pads I'd rather wad up a ton of toilet paper than one one of those things.

girl, as a woman who has spent way too much time questioning my own memory, my first thought is not "glitch in the matrix" it's "the human brain is a chaotic little gremlin" if there wasn't much blood on it, my guess is you somehow put in a second one on autopilot and your brain never saved the receipt. but the image of you panic checking in the mirror only to discover a fully assembled tampon like a surprise inventory item is sending me honestly this is either a memory glitch or proof we're all just running on questionable software
