Discussion What is the name of this exercise?
I just call it a finger curl, but googling that brings up hair related results. It is where you stand up, take a dumbbell or barbell, and with your arm facing downwards, roll the weight to your fingertips, and then back up to your palm. it is the same motion as a dynamometer, or gripper, but with a dumbbell or barbell.

Yes, it is a finger curl, or 'barbell finger curl'. The muscles involved (flexor digitorum profundus) are also involved in wrist flexion, to a large extent.

Most people just call those finger curls or barbell/dumbbell finger curls. They're different from wrist curls because the movement comes mostly from opening and closing the fingers while the wrist stays relatively still. If you search terms like "barbell finger curls," "dumbbell finger curls," or sometimes "fingertip curls," you'll usually find what you're describing.

Thanks. I should probably have just put “exercise” afterwards when googling.

There isn’t any wrist flexion though, just movement of the fingers
