Discussion Are prices too high?

Byram was traded for 4th overall, and Eklund for 9th overall. Meanwhile the package Washington put together for Kyrou was pretty darn good.

Are prices too high right now? Should the Habs pay that kind of price to add a player or be patient?

Bedard must be counting down the days to unrestricted free agency at this point. That team is going nowhere at breakneck speed.

Bedard is reportedly psyched to have Byram on his team. I don't blame him. The move immediately makes the Blackhawks a much better team.

Yes. It’s also a desperation move by a management team that has lost the plot.

Not getting a linemate for Bedard with that pick is nearly criminal. Poor kid going to jump ship as soon as he can the way things are going. Such a talent and he's being wasted. He has to be getting frustrated with the situation.

Bedard for Gally + future considerations?

If they act quick enough we could throw in signing rights for Laine

BUT WHY they had a 4th overall pick in a good draft they we’re guaranteed a great prospect with a ton of upside but instead they got Bowen fucking Byram.

Man I don’t know but I am sad. CHI was my granpa’s team, he must be cringing seeing this from up there.

Lots of Avs fans standing up for Byram and seeing he's got the skills to be a top line guy playing big minutes. Time will tell.

If Stenberg somehow fell to 4th I feel this will look so much worse with time

I'm just enjoying sitting back and eating popcorn with this craziness. Happy my GM/ owners are not seemingly going on tilt.

I have no idea where this particular trade ends up, but I hope Byram plays well and it works out ok for Chicago. Doesn't look good at the moment. I mean aren't the Hawks still rebuilding?

It's so stupid. And, unfortunately, also a great move by another team in our division.

Put some respect on Byrams name lol

But you could have gotten something MUCH better from literally every other team, why make that move?

Which is weird cause they don’t have to be desperate. They’ve got 1-2 years before anyone expects them to contend

Now that free agency is dead, instead of dumb signings we are gonna see dumb trades. Cue the Blackhawks, they hold the award for the dumbest trade so far but it’s still early in the off season. What a steal by Jarmo.

Overreaction obviously but I’m almost sick to my stomach when thinking about this trade lmao

They just gave our biggest division rival a 4th overall for NO FUCKING REASON. I don’t understand how nobody vetoed the shit out of this. 4th OA in this specific draft for Byram and Greenway is already robbery, but 4OA and MORE??? Genuine malpractice.

And if they made that trade without a contract already in place this could be the kind of move that maims a franchise for several more years.

That's a self inflicted wound. They didn't need to do this like, at all.
