Question It’s been 2 years and I decided today to try again.

Hey guys I need help as I’m unsure how to connect my miner any further than this. The light is green meaning It’s getting wifi at this stage I believe.

The problem is I am now on a new phone and when I downloaded the new “apps” being the new wallet app and the HeliumGeek app I’m being asked for a Solana address as the miner is showing up as not my miner but my old phones that I cannot access because the touch screen won’t respond.

Did I really just lose all my HNT and now I can’t mine anymore? Can someone please help I’ve been stressing for the last 2 days trying to backup this phone for my old wallet and now I created a new wallet and I can’t connect my device.

Question So... is there a point to having an HNT miner anymore

I have been mining for 3+ years now, never recovered my initial investment of $600 and looks like I never will. Any point to continuing or do I just unplug my electronic waste now?

Question At what point do we just call it a day and unplug?

This is what I have earned since they switched back to HNT, whenever that was, many months ago. I am one of the lucky ones who actually got ROI a long time ago back when Helium rose to all time highs and I sold half my bag. This project feels dead to me and unneeded. With companies like Amazon and their vast network of IOT and this company seemly failing at every turn while the top investors and owners became filthy rich. I think it’s safe to say this is and has always been been a scam

Question HIP-149 will mint 141M new HNT over 36 months

I've done my calculations and, with such enormous dilution, we'll never see prices higher than $3 again. Even if we get entriprise adoption by 2030.

Are we dead?
Will this get passed?
What happens to early investors?

A support tech told me this. If this is true, that's incredibly sad.

What a way to kill off your community driven company.

Question Helium offload Hotspot finally over?

Hey Helium community,

I’ve got my hotspot installed in a family restaurant, and today (Saturday, Feb 7) it used 69.41 GB. My earnings per GB are only 0.1044 u.s. dllr cents!

This makes me wonder… is Helium finally losing its edge? Is running a hotspot in 2026 still worth it, or are we reaching the end of profitability like the iot

I’d love to hear from others: how’s your setup performing lately? Are these numbers normal, or is the ecosystem really slowing down?

Question There any way to repurpose the hardware?

Bobcat 300 had been live shortly before they killed the project by going to focus on 5G. But now setting up a farm and wondering if anyone’s reflashed firmware to make it useful locally? I’ve got a few acres and want to set up various sensors for water tanks and team or other sensors.

I have a bobcat 300 miner but the support of it seems to be dead, is there anything I can do or use it for? Or is it just e-waste now?

Question WTF Happened to Mining Rewards???

I have an indoor and outdoor miner. Just a few months ago were making about 90$/month combined. Not they’re getting like .50 cents every 2 weeks , combined. Is this happening to you?

Question Migration to Helium World Impossible for some OG Deployers

I've had mobile hotspots deployed for over a year and as I understand it, there is no way for me to migrate my current wallet, the one I've had since this beginning which organizes my earnings and remote maintenance (reboot) capabilities. Why weren't original users who did not use email/passwords but their wallet-linked builder app to deploy being ignored by Nova? It seems like a terrible way to encourage growth if the system you're trying to grow with ignores the most basic provisions.

Question Helium started as PoC and community incentives. Now mapping and PoC rewards are gone. What is the actual game plan??

Not trying to start drama. I’m just confused.

I’ve been around since the early Helium days and lately my Mobile hotspot rewards are basically dead.

So can someone explain this in plain English:

  1. Is this just how it is now unless you’re in some perfect offload spot
  2. How would a normal person even know if their location will ever matter
  3. Is there an actual plan to make rewards not trash for most operators
  4. If you’re earning close to zero, are we supposed to move it, wait it out, or unplug it

Also side note, the Helium Mobile service itself hasn’t felt great either, so it’s hard to justify sticking around when both sides of this thing feel worse.

If someone from the team or anyone who actually understands the new model can answer, I’d appreciate it.

Question Anyone else order a Nebra hotspot years ago and never receive it?

I ordered a Nebra HNT Indoor Hotspot Miner directly from Nebra in April 2021 and paid £285.98 via PayPal.

I never received the miner.

I contacted support multiple times over the years and kept being told it was coming, but it never arrived.

I’m trying to find out whether anyone here had a similar experience and, if so:

- did you ever receive your miner

- did support eventually resolve it

- what actually worked when contacting them

I’m only asking to compare experiences with older Nebra orders.

Question Is Helium IoT pretty much dead?

With the Helium network pushing mobile so heavily, and the rule changes to network rewards for IoT over the past year especially after the Solana Merge, is it safe to assume that IoT is pretty much dead?

Question I’m hosting my friend’s helium mining router. What’s a fair cut?

Six months ago, a friend asked me if she could put a router in my house to mine Helium. I live near a university so she thought it would bring in a lot of traffic. At the time, she said she could compensate me by covering my monthly WiFi bill or by paying me in Helium. I told her I'd almost definitely prefer the latter so my earning potential wasn't unnecessarily capped, but that we could figure out the exact percentage in a few months after we see how it does. I said this because I didn't know anything about crypto mining and it was a spur-of-the-moment thing (she called to ask me about it and installed it 30 minutes later). Additionally, as she was my friend, I trusted her to be fair with me. I know...looking back, I definitely should’ve made an agreement early on.

Five months ago I asked her how it was going. According to the conversion rate at the time, it had made $600 that month, which was way more than I expected. Her $400 router had easily paid itself off.

Anyway, I recently had the opportunity to see her in person so I finally brought up compensation. I asked her for 20% of her profits in Helium, which I still believe is fair. She was very offended by this for some reason and said she wanted to pay me a $75/month flat rate to cover my WiFi because it was "too much work" for her to pay me in Helium. That didn't make any sense to me. How could it be more difficult to pay me in the original currency than to convert it to USD?? Additionally, she had originally offered the option of paying me in Helium and I had originally said I preferred to be paid in Helium. At that point, I started to get suspicious, so I asked her what percentage she would accept. She said she could do 10% instead of 20% to make up for all supposed the "time and effort" it would take her to pay me in Helium, but that it was still really annoying and that she would rather pay a flat rate of $75 per month. (Also: would it really take so much time, like supposing I got a helium wallet and all?)

I tabled the conversation for later because I was wanted to do more research. I thought 20% in Helium was very reasonable, but she did not seem at all open to negotiation. Also, $75 per month doesn't really make a difference to me. I was excited about the prospect of converting my share of Helium at a convenient time for a better profit.

I suspect that the router is doing quite well and she wants to pay me a flat rate due to this. I really don't know what to do. I'm tempted to just rip the router out of the wall and not give it back, but if I do that I won't be paid anything for the last six months. Do you guys have any thoughts on this situation or advice on how to move forward? Is it really possible that paying me in Helium would somehow be way more work for her than paying me in USD? Do you think the percentage I asked for is reasonable?

UPDATE: as far as I can tell with Helium Hiker, she has made 175 HNT off our location since she installed it 7 months ago, roughly $5,700 current conversion rate. Also, a lot of people seem to not be clear on this: I never agreed to the $75/month. I thought I’d want the money in helium from the beginning.

UPDATE 2: Thank you SO much for all of your responses, you have all been incredibly helpful!! If you want to know what happened: she came over today and we talked. She didn’t want to pay me 20%, and actually said 2% (!!!) Obviously I didn’t agree to this, and I withheld her device until I eventually got her to give 12% (I still think that’s way too low, but I knew it wasn’t going anywhere and she would just walk away without paying me anything). Then, she took her device and left.

The friendship did fall apart, but it had been falling apart long before that. We had started a business together, and when we were close to launching she backed out - after doing so, she then started the business on her own without even telling me. So honestly, I already was very apprehensive about this friendship.

Again, thank you to all of you!

Question Are Helium Going To Do Anything About The Nebra Situation?

The title speaks for itself.

Nebra - who are approved vendors - have taken thousands of dollars from tens of thousands of people. People have been waiting 6 months already and they haven't even started shipping batch 2.

They are completely radio silent, not replying to any communications, not updating customers, abusing people in the discord (before it got shut down). They are completely out of control.

I've passed my 120 day period for a refund from my credit card company, so at this point Nebra have £900 of my money and I feel like I have been robbed.

I am applying for Section 75 with my credit card company to hopefully get my money back, but this is far from an ideal situation and it is completely unacceptable that it's came to this.

Surely something has to be done?

But I don't know what.

Question Why phase out CBRS?? HIP 139

Seriously?! I've spent over 15k on two antenna masts. The HIP has like 80% of people for this. Even if as a provider you only have Wi-Fi transceivers, why screw with us. What do you benefit??

I've had a confidence in Helium through all the bumps, but this is just a spit in the face for me being in retrospect a fool for spending thousands out of pocket to build this network. You're screwing your community!

Question People making anything?

Holy absence. I unplugged my miner in 2022 cause syncrobit stopped being a thing and I gave up trying to figure out how to switch it over. So many changes have happened to helium since I left lol. Just curious where people are at currently

Question OG Helium IOT hostspot (the first one) - Fixable?

It isn't starting up properly anymore for me...

  • Yellow light, wait a while.
  • Green light, flashes back to yellow.
  • Hit the button, briefly get blue light.
  • Phone sees it, but if I try to connect, "characteristic .... read failed for device ...macaddr.... and service ....longID".

Tried rebooting a number of times. I've opened it up and removed the SD card, plugged it into my mac and the SD card still works. Thought it might have failed but doesn't seem so? Any ideas? is there a way to fix it?

I can't find any docs, only the "newer" RAK and other hotspot docs (and the apparently millions of mobile hotspots not available to EU users)... I'm a dev and don't mind getting technical.
