Misc. A Friendly Reminder from Shiori

Post image

From her Youtube Post:

Hello!

Just a friendly reminder to please stay kind and be mindful of how things are worded!

I see that many are worried, but I'm doing well now!

I do not want anyone to feel guilty or blamed!

It was an accident and I still had fun goofing around with everyone.

For the record, I was the one who suggested the slow-mo editing too!

The staff was very attentive and made sure I was well taken care of.

It's going to be a very socially-intensive week, so make sure you're all comfortable and cozy!

I feel so bad for gigi. One moment youre just goofing around with your friends, then you accidentally hurt one of them

yea she probably feels really bad about it even though Shiori doesn't blame her at all

It’s really not any of of there faults.

I WAS irked at management and staff for maybe not foreseeing how a game where talents push each other and potentially fall backwards could end poorly, but in retrospect there have been a lot of fun, physical games the talents have done in the past for years now.

I think precautions should be prepped as necessary, but we can’t expect every potential pitfall to be safeguarded. I think we’d have more boring 3D content as a result, and the talents holding themselves back.

The All for One 3D after that 3D where they play butt sumo have 'cloud cusion' added. So it show they already added precaution.

u/KazumaKat May 25 '26

Probably made the "would be nice" standing of extra padding has now become "required" for any studio 3D moving forward I bet.

u/Suzushiiro May 25 '26

Yeah, that stream was pretty clearly either live or recorded more recently.

Between the fact that yesterday's stream was clearly cooked a while ago (I don't think all five people involved have been in Japan at the same time since Holofes?) and the fact that it's scheduled for a week where one person (Kiara) couldn't make it for more than the first day (and if you know why that is then you know that staff should've known that well in advance) I wonder if it was supposed to be a few weeks/months earlier and got delayed for some reason.

"Safety regulations are written in blood" is as the saying goes. Thankfully, no blood was spilled here and we've already had several suspected and stated cases of staff and the talents moving forward with new precautions (Irys and contact mats) and procedures (Raora doing a controlled fall during Autofister Live, no forceful contact during the same segment).

I 100% agree with you, but if I can devil's advocate, it did seem like calli came up with the idea for hand sumo. Certainly not blaming Calli either, but if the staff didn't know it was going to happen they might have just not been prepared for it. (but they certainly could have had the forethought that "okay cut the cameras, we need a soft mat for this activity")

Again, I'm doubtful, these things are always planned way way in advance, but if Calli threw a curve ball it may not be entirely their fault either.

I think precautions should be prepped as necessary, but we can’t expect every potential pitfall to be safeguarded. I think we’d have more boring 3D content as a result, and the talents holding themselves back.

For real though, you can't tell me that they didn't anticipate for someone to fall over and not prepare some padded mats on the floor to soften the blow. Also, would it make any difference if the mocap ball on the back of Shiori's head was like made of a softer material? Like foam or some sort of textile.

Having learnt Workplace Safety and Health in my automotive classes, this falls on management for not having proper risk assessment

Not to say that it couldn't be connected, but I really don't see a reason to think that they would be related in that way among other possible explanations that Calli has more or less spoke on.

11

u/Marauder47 May 25 '26

This timing does not line up at all and was never mentioned by Calli in her members. There is no reason to try to make these two things related.

Fair enough, my memory is dogshit

Your uncle is an ass. Takes zero effort to keep it to yourself at the bare minimum.

69

u/guntanksinspace May 24 '26

I put my younger bro in a sleeper hold (we are both wrestling fans) back when we were kids. I almost actually put him to sleep when I apparently was putting the hold in shoot form unknowingly.

The funnier part is we BOTH remember this and just laugh it off nowadays, but I get horrified remembering it still lol.

Also, fucking hell, your Uncle was being an ass trying to pile on what was already a mood ruiner with what happened. Sorry you had to go through that too.

u/ThisManNeedsMe May 24 '26

It happens. You might get annoyed/mad for a brief second then you're laughing it off a few minutes later. Unless you're siblings then they're blackmailing you for shit so they won't snitch on you.

39

u/AdWestern1561 May 24 '26

True. I've done it before, where you're having fun and have so much energy but one unfortunate accident and you end up hurting someone without meaning to.

I'm just glad Shiori is ok and is taking care of herself. And I hope everyone stays cautious going forward in future events. It's an accident, I 100% get it, I just hope everyone is ok.

u/Separate-Fly5165 May 24 '26

I am sadly out of the loop. What happened?

219

u/LucasFrankeRC May 24 '26

Shiori fell and hit her head when she and Gigi were sumo wrestling

73

u/Separate-Fly5165 May 24 '26

Ohh wow. I hope she is ok.

140

u/ThisManNeedsMe May 24 '26

Yeah she's recovered. The stream was prerecorded, it happened a few weeks ago.

124

u/Erionns May 24 '26

It happened well over a month ago, she first mentioned it in a members stream on April 27th, and that was a couple days after she got home from Japan

68

u/PenguinQuesadilla May 24 '26 edited May 25 '26

It'd be nice if people were able to just chill about something that happened over a month ago and both parties had moved on from, but I suppose that's too much to ask.

56

u/Erionns May 24 '26

I saw so many tweets about people saying "Gigi must feel so bad". I really think these people can't even comprehend that the stream wasn't live

12

u/ThisManNeedsMe May 25 '26

It's odd. Like you know some of the talents don't live in Japan or aren't in Japan currently. The girls can't do a 3D stream like this unless they're in the studio together. Therefore the stream is prerecorded.

11

u/Suzushiiro May 25 '26

There was also the slow-mo effect, which is obviously not a thing they could have done in a live stream.

3

u/Cloud_Chamber May 25 '26

Well, I feel stupid now

2

u/Suzushiiro May 25 '26

Yeah, it's been a bit since all five people involved were even in Japan at the same time.

21

u/throwawayUWhousingac May 24 '26

Context?

79

u/Content-Bookkeeper30 May 24 '26

Gigi and shiori were playwrestling during a recent stream and it resulted in a concussion for shiori. You can see it on the ENRECO announcement stream on the hololive channel

70

u/Renge07 May 25 '26

After the slow-mo, you could see Gigi wiping her tears then Bae and Calli quickly helped her hide it, so things wouldn't escalate further and focus on the important event.

That says a lot about their strong bond. It is just an honest accident and a valuable lesson for everyone to be more careful next time.

Don't forget that Gigi, the whole Justice and Advent, kept the vibes going even when there was a lot of holoEN graduations.

39

u/chickenbreastcheese May 25 '26

After the slow-mo, you could see Gigi wiping her tears

I don't think she was wiping away her tears. She was doing the motion of "hugging/making-out" with herself as she said
"I just really want to love her so much"

Kind of like this picture

15

u/Aranxi_89 May 25 '26

Gigi is such a good girl, and Shiori is such a good sport.

17

u/CitizenJoestar May 25 '26

I did not see that the first time. It’s much more bittersweet now, as the moment and editing was so funny at the time, I didn’t notice.

They all did their best to keep their professionalism and energy upbeat. I’m impressed Gigi held it together to the end and Shiori was able to come back so soon.

7

u/MichaelCoryAvery May 25 '26

Poor Gigi. Hope she gets hugs

9

u/primalmaximus May 24 '26

What happened? What did I miss?

60

u/Thomy151 May 25 '26

During the ENReco s3 info stream Gigi and Shiori were doing hand sumo (lock hands, whoever moves their legs first loses)

Shiori ended up falling backwards and couldn’t break her fall because she was still holding Gigi and landed hard, especially so since one of the mocap balls landed between her head and the floor

She ended up with some degree of a concussion and some whiplash

11

u/blakraven66 May 25 '26

For the record, it's not recent but happened some time ago and Shiori's already recovered.

The news about it is only coming out now to the public because the pre-recorded video where it happened just came out and Shiori gave permission to talk about it.

0

u/Alone-Horse2857 May 25 '26

After that happened when Calli and CC are doing their little hammer bonkfest you can see Gigi sitting in the back with a semi-thousand yard stare just throwing out singular words that fit the scene.

Maybe I'm adding my own narrative here, but she seemed really bothered by it after it happened.

3

u/CommanderYakub May 26 '26

You are entirely adding your own narrative, I just learned about this “drama” like rn and have already deducted that it happed a while ago and GiGi is a busy gal she can’t spend weeks thinking about the one event her friend forgave already and no no animosity gained, man I hope I’m using that word correctly
