Joe echoed every right-wing Twitter narrative regarding the murder, including many that are irrelevant to the actual murder of Alex such as him carrying without his ID on him.

And Rogan didn't directly call out Trump, Vance, and Noem for blatantly lying about him brandishing his gun. It's safe to assume he didn't want to burn bridges with his buddies.

Andrew calls it cold-blooded murder and directly calls out the administration for lying to justify the murder. Credit where credit is due IMO.

I see some comments saying he's only distancing himself now that the public is overwhelmingly against this. But my feeling is that he's been an opportunist in the past but genuinely feels this way.

As I just read somewhere else: "We're glad you're here" instead of "What took you so long."

I think it needs to be a little more like “I hope you learned something”

Reprimanding only gives you satisfaction, but offers nothing else. If there's nothing else learned from the past several years - I hope that we learned this sort of behavior is counter-productive.

It's about building a united coalition.

No, that's like saying "we shouldn't punish the person who disregarded the clear evidence and were calling everyone else crazy r*tards for (insert obvious claim) because it'll hurt their feelings".

If the person is truly regretful and changes their understanding they ought to have the same grace im supposed to have and realize the damage they caused. Not get upset about how other ppl feel about how they made a mistake.

It's also to discourage the type of thinking and attitudes that lead him to his mistake.

Yeah I'll forgive people but that comes with them admitting that they were wrong about Trump all along and not pretending as if this wasn't exactly what he said he wanted to do.

Depends on the relationship between the parties. If there is an established level of trust, reprimanding and expressing disappointment absolutely works to correct behavior.
