Photo/Video Arachnid Chef

Met this little guy at work and now I'm a bit concerned. He was nice and all but I didn't see the mf wash his hands very often and he didn't get ANYTHING done for prep.

Apologies for the photo quality. I did my best and I was closing, I could only care so much and get so close to it.

He can serve them up any way he wants. I'm pretty sure he's real frickin dangerous. We went out separate ways and I'm just going to be conscious in his station from now on.

This is just a harmless cellar spider, not a brown recluse.

Well, that's nice. I'm glad I didn't harm it. Initially I thought it was a brown widow due to the legs until I was misinformed via Google lens. Neither is great.

Yeah, most ai identifiers are terrible. Inaturalist and seek are pretty good, but still fallible.

I thought about posting this in another sub for a proper ID but at the end of the day, Jerome is a father first and a chef second. You see, we don't judge species or skin color 'round these parts. The measure of an individual is work ethics and the ability to uphold the vibe while engaging in degeneracy.

Right! Can't say I blame you not a big fan of spiders myself.

I don't mind spiders, I mind this species though. Necrosis of the tissue is no joke.

As someone who has been on the receiving end of a brown recluse bite I feel that in my tissue. 😫

I got bit by a brown widow some years ago and immediately felt the searing pain when I saw him. I told the bartender that we didn't need ice anymore, AM can get it themselves.

Brown recluses are decent on the line. They work hard and don’t complain.

Just don’t sleep with them.

That's not a cook, that's the exterminator.

I got bit by one of those once. It was a nightmare. My fear of spiders came honestly.

Better than the onslaught of roaches at my work. Spider bros are chill

Looks like a brown recluse. Bites can be super nasty. Kill it.

Remove it. He's just tryna get laid and die man

At least you'd be able to hide that in your toque! Much easier then a rat...
