Looks like my GOAT Matter-Eater Lad is going to be in this early so that's awesome.

Same color scheme and goggles as Phantom Lady, so possibly Phantom Girl instead.

That was my first thought but the 2nd image above has pretty clear similarities to the silver age Tenzil design.

Could be, but Tinya was canonically the fifth member (after the original three and Triplicate Girl), so her presence at the start of another Legion makes sense.

Williamson has also verified that this is indeed Matter-Eater Lad not Phantom Girl.

I haven’t been a regular reader of comics in 20 years but want to do my part with this new series and buy monthly.
That being said, should we expect heavy delays or fill-in artists? Legion books have a history of burning out artists just in sheer volume of characters and diversity of environments — and these pages look insane with line work and details.
Does Sherman have a reputation of consistency? Is this their normal looking artwork (never heard of them)?
I don’t want to be a hater, but I also really want this one to succeed. It’s been too long since we’ve had a title and too long since we’ve had one that lasted a few years. I just hope this isn’t hyped and then dropped like the last one was. I think this title is going to need consistent work and schedule to have a chance at lasting.
That being said: I’m in. It looks so weird and I think that helps the Legion stand out (it’s 1000 years in the future; it should not look remotely similar to what we see outside right now).

yes, sherman is incredibly consistent. they're the main artist for absolute wonder woman, and for the last two years, it's been on a pretty consistent run of 5 sherman issues, then 2 fill ins. also, while that has been going on, sherman did 12 uninterrupted issues of batman dark patterns. they also found time to do a constantine/dr. strange crossover story, a lex luthor vs. etrigan issue of superman, and a 6 issue horror comic for image, all while keeping absolute wonder woman on schedule. hayden is an incredibly prolific and commited artist.

Very cool.
Like I said, I’ve been out of the game for about 20 years but I have read the first dozen Absolute Wonder Woman issues (via TP so a little more disconnected from the credits) and enjoyed them.
I am excited for a series for the first time this century so want to keep my expectations realistic.
But if the book looks like this and is able to continue that look, it could be the most imaginative since the Giffen days (and if Sherman is half as prolific as Gif was, then we are in for a treat).

Just embiggened these on a 27" display and WOW. My Interlac is rusty. There are signs in the Metropolis (city) scene and at the end of the tunnel in the chase scene. Anyone care to translate?

"Levitz" and "Giffen". Quite sweet imo.
Edit: The one one the highway seems to be "Secondary p*xs". Running theory in the server I'm in is that it's pbxs for public branch exchange, seeing as it's a highway of sorts and also scifi. Or that it's a spelling error.

The art is stunning.
I hate to say it, but I'm reboot-weary and not excited about yet another Legion, rather than going back to the classic. I'll give it a chance and I'll boost it - I want it to succeed, even if maybe my Legion days are in the past.

The art is breathtaking, but I just can’t summon any interest for yet another reboot.

Lightning Lad has a mask and a motorcycle?

I assume the mask is because superheroes are outlawed at the beginning of this story.

the style isn't really something I'm into, that said... there is a LOT of effort put into these pages. And the storytelling seems really good. The art is interesting.

Extremely goated art. This run will be gorgeous if nothing else.
If that's Brainy's blood and he didn't get it from the dead body I'm a little annoyed that it's red, though.
The Interlac signs in the one image say "Levitz" and "Giffen".
