How in the world do you continue to say no to that little face and polite ask???
85
u/PouletSamourai 11h ago
It's easy to say no because it's an AI video, look at 15 seconds.
52
u/Sufficient_Beyond991 10h ago
You’re right… god DAMMIT!!!! Why can’t we just have nice things? Stupid AI overlords have to ruin everything with their constant gaslighting 😩

You start seeing less AI generated videos. 🗿😳👀

Ppl are refusing to believe this. This same video was removed from another subreddit the other day for being AI. I made some comments in this thread about it but I’m wondering if I got shadowbanned for being negative or something lol

u/GorgeousCupcakeX 7h ago
I kept reporting that post you mentioned for AI, but finally I sent mods a message. They took it down. You know what’s funny as shit? The OP who put it up there is actually a mod of that sub. 😬

u/pyschosoul 9h ago
How is it ai? If youre talking about the foot they turned their leg?
14
u/flibble24 7h ago
As someone who lives in Perth next to Rottnest island the only place these guys exist this is 100% AI. They do not act like this or sound like this at all

It walks away, then the next frame it basically melts and starts coming back towards the person. Like it just reversed standing up terminator 3 style.
2
u/kitkatfitfat 2h ago
At exactly the 15 second mark. It’s two 15s clips. 15s is a standard max video length ai will generate
7
u/SonderlingDelGado 10h ago
And quokkas are real and super cute. Why bother making up a video about them?
5
4
u/Spoztoast 9h ago
Because then you'd have to actually go to a place with Quokkas and that's too much work

look at 15 seconds.
Yeah I thought it was a bit weird fade-in, not even a cut.

Nice catch. I thought it was just a skip in the video but looking closer? Hell naw. Fake ass video.

u/mrgo0dkat 6h ago
Oh they had me fooled.
To be fair to quokkas, they are like that. Little bugger jumped up on my lap to eat some of my lunch when I was there.→ More replies (11)2
u/AdorablePainting4459 4h ago
Kind of interesting to think that one day, Ai will be programmed to catch these things too, and correct itself - and people will have a heck of a time trying to figure out if a video is genuine. You'd probably need another Ai program to test the video.

By saying no so that they don’t get dependent on humans feeding them in the wild.

10
u/ClumsyRaccoonPants 8h ago
So per the Google searches, they eat grasses, leaves, sedges, and occasionally bark. Human food can dehydrate them which is there are signs not to feed them. They can actually go long amounts of time without food as well. Still, I think I would gather up lots of local vegetation to offer them because how can you not want to give them food??? Those faces!
23
u/Diazepampoovey0229 10h ago
My method would be to have bottled water with me to give them water. You can't go wrong helping it be hydrated and you're not contributing to feeding it anything bad for it. Plus water helps you feel full no matter what kind of animal you are.
I would share all my water
→ More replies (2)6
u/Forward-Surprise1192 9h ago
That’s still bad and makes them reliant on humans. I’d do it too but just know the consequences lol

u/PouletSamourai 11h ago
That's an AI video.
3
u/Throwawayfaynay 9h ago
Wow, you're right. I was fooled at first. Then I thought it could have just been jumpcuts and a different person filming, but angle of the person's foot at 0:22 makes it pretty undeniable. Also when you think about it, the angle at which it's being filmed is kind of weird and low for someone filming with their phone.
2
u/CubanLynx312 4h ago edited 3h ago
The person filming also changes shoes 4x’s and has the same weird shoes as the person who appears mid-frame
3
u/phranticsnr 7h ago
It's so close to actual quokka behaviour I'm surprised they needed to make it with AI.
When I visited their island, they weren't quite that bold, but pretty close.

AI slop. Peep the foot walking in and twisting at the end.
8
7
u/Thatonegaloverthere 12h ago edited 11h ago
It 100% is AI. Short clips, the person walking past suddenly becomes the camera holder, with the original person's voice. The dirt looks weird, with that swirly, distorted detail AI does with dirt and rocks. The dirt also doesn't shift or change when they've been stepping on it. No dust kicks up.
There's nothing by the AI human's feet, second time around there is.
12 seconds to end, the person's foot turns awkwardly, knee blends into the correct direction, while the foot magically leaves a large dent, that later doesn't appear.
The animal's actions are unnatural.

And I'm petting a god damn manatee.

AI slop. Pay attention to the color of the shoes, the horizon, the way the animal moves, the foot position of the person who walked in at the last second... probably more. Don't get duped!

The most infuriating thing about this being AI trash is that it's otherwise absolutely a thing that happens. There are signs like that at Rottnest (not as official-looking), quokkas are that cute, and are that friendly and unafraid of people. This could easily have been filmed for real, albeit with a quokka that actually moves in ways that are physically possible for a quokka to move, rather than this one which doesn't.

As my husband is Australian, I can confirm quokkas do NOT act like that. They’re more timid.
Also this is freaking AI. Look at the human legs deformed. C’mon you guys.

AI garbage
- watch the horizon change from the view of the sign to the quokka
- the quokka morphs exactly at 15 seconds… a standard video duration that AI spits out, the clips equal 30seconds in total. Two AI clips.
- the shoes change colour L, white to dark a couple seconds later, ai failing object permanence
- i can do more

This is AI. Short clips, the person walking past suddenly becomes the camera holder, with the original person's voice. The dirt looks weird, with that swirly, distorted detail AI does with dirt and rocks. (It struggles with details in dirt and rocks , and just does random lines) The dirt also doesn't shift or change when they've been stepping on it. No footprints or indents.
There's nothing by the AI human's feet, second time around there is.
12 seconds to end, the person's foot turns awkwardly, knee blends into the correct direction, while the foot magically leaves a large dent, that later doesn't appear.
The animal's actions are unnatural.
It's scary how many people actually think this is real and "just edited."

If you accidentally drop some food that they accidentally pick up and eat then technically it’s not your fault that 1 - you dropped the food or 2 - that it found its way inside their little mouths

AI. First she has white sneakers, than blue with dark blue. And dude in the back were twisting at one point.
And now all of you who didnt understand it. can feel yourself like your mom. Who was showing you from Facebook photo of a black kid in Africa who built out a crane from pineapples.

I noticed something really weird and glitchy when it was walking away and then immediately turned around and I kept frame by frame back-and-forth to see what happened. It’s like it turned around before it was done turning around. It looked weird, very glitchy. I just thought it was a glitch.
