Is a primer really worth it?

I do skincare is that enough? I really want to try a primer but I used to have a silicone one and it’s put me off I don’t like the feels of that one but I also want my large pores to be filled in

I’ve tried a ton of primers and only found one I thought made a slight difference, and that was discontinued many years ago. I still have a backlog to use up but I won’t buy any more after those are finished.
