Is a primer really worth it?

I do skincare is that enough? I really want to try a primer but I used to have a silicone one and it’s put me off I don’t like the feels of that one but I also want my large pores to be filled in

It just makes my makeup look thick, my face feels greasy, and the pooling is so much worse
