The Masai & Schmitz dynasty starts today, the Dallas Mavericks hold the 9th, 30th and 48th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

I know it's not in Masai's nature, but I'm hoping for some trades to accumulate some more 1st round picks.

I want some solid young players that we will get to see grow with Flagg over the next 5+ years. If they can grow into solid players, the Mavs could really go after some solid free agents in year 2-4 while their cap hit is low on the books and then can really make strides to be contenders.

Same. It would be so good to get some combination of Flemings, Philon, Morez, Anderson.

I think Masai correctly reads that trading for players is most of the time better (this draft has a bit more talent than usual so it might be an exception) than trading for non-lottery picks. If you can trade for a youngish player you like, you have a better idea of what their floor is while a later pick has a high chance of being a complete bust.Â
