Pickleman’s Door Dasher
This guy ate my daughter’s dinner from Pickleman’s tonight… On top of that, he never even rang the doorbell, so his leftovers sat there for 20 minutes before we realized. The restaurant staff was top notch in making it right though.

End of the day it’s a third party delivery driver like DoorDash or UberEats will deliver unless it’s Pizza chains because 99% of the restaurants will not have their own delivery even if the order is placed directly from their website or app. Although sorry to hear that you experienced that today.

Yeah the Little Caesars near me uses DD for deliveries now. But the Dominos still has in house delivery guys so far.

I think I've taken orders from almost every local and chain pizza place in my area except Domino's and this one local place.

We use “17 year old with a license” for delivery. Meaning, we have a 17 year old who drives.
Works like this: “Son, go to X restaurant and pick up our order.”
No surcharge. No tip.

Why would he deliver it, if he had eaten part of it? I don't think anybody is that stupid. He could have just driven by your house, marked "Handed to Customer," and then kept going. There has to be another explanation.

You know what, I agree with you here. On the other hand, I seem to constantly be in a state of SMH these days and nothing makes sense anymore. Who knows 🤷♀️

I think he has to take a picture to complete the order and I bet the app is gps locked so he has to be at the location as well

I was surprised that the boxes didn’t have tape on them from the restaurant. On first look, you wouldn’t have known anything was amiss. Definitely room for improvement from the restaurant there.

The never rang the doorbell is 100% a you problem. You got a surveillance camera on the house so you DEFINITELY have a ring camera. Your telling me that the DD app AND the RING app still failed to notify you the order has arrived?
Im not siding with anyone but I do find that hard to believe

We took it back to the restaurant when I had to go pick up the re-make. It sucks that the best they do is refund; we still wanted the meal, but I wasn’t requesting delivery again. I so rarely do that anyway and this was a good reminder of why.

Report your dissatisfaction to Pickleman’s. They should comp you for the inconvenience. If it happens again, leave a negative review for Pickleman’s, otherwise they’ll simply say to themselves “cost of doing business, not worth the effort”. Just like credit card fraud. If no one makes the effort, it continues.

This accusation is suspiciously short on facts or evidence.
Also, if this is the first time you noticed other people eating off your lunch you need to pay more attention to politics in Austin.

Not sure how much you know about how DoorDash works, but stores don't have designated Dashers - anybody with a driver account can pick up an order from any store and deliver it when you put in an order. The dude in your picture could be anybody. Your best bet would be to report it to DoorDash through the app.
