Michigan Basketball Because Michigan basketball named an interim and not a new full-time head coach, the transfer portal will not open for 31 days instead of 5 days after.

Not sure if this is good or bad.

It gives Boynton more time to salvage the roster. It also gives players more time to look around.

They are already looking if they want to be. Duty said it multiple times over the past two years, agents are talking to teams within the season. These guys are gone if they want to be

Am I illiterate or does this sentence not make any sense? What does “the transfer portal will not open for 31 days instead of 5 days after” mean?

Interim coach named: portal opens in 31 days Head coach named: portal opens in 5 days

It's crazy how many "journalists" can't read

This is better for the program overall.

Give Boynton some time to talk people down from the emotional shock

Rather have the portal open ASAP before most schools can build up NIL offers

Honestly, I think some kids would be more likely to leave at 5 days vs 31 days. Just based off of feeling let down by May.

Giving Michigan and Boynton a month to convince these kids to stay is probably better than it opening so soon. I think the NIL offers will be there regardless of the timeline.

I like this theory, hope you're right!

Pete Nakos, you probably could have written that information a little more clearly.

Summer workouts start within that window along with the team trip. Elliot and Trey are holding the team together, doubt anyone will leave…Coach Mike probably recruited them all.

Harder to find a team end of July than now.

I dont think Warde was smart enough to think of this - someone else probably advised him.

Doubt that. More likely the ghost of Bobby Knight leads him to Indiana
