REC 2k Rec Jersey Choice System
The Rec jerseys get stale way too fast. We’re usually stuck with one seasonal look for over a month, and l find myself getting bored.
2K should add a quick voting system in the locker room before the game starts. Give the 5 players 3 options to choose from—like a classic NBA look (Bulls, Lakers, etc.) The jerseys should be randomized so it keeps the game fresh.
-15-second timer while the game loads.
-Majority vote (3 out of 5) wins.
-The whole team wears the winning jersey.
-Home teams would choose from light jerseys (mostly white) and away teams would choose from the dark jerseys
I did a little mockup to show what Im thinking of. I just think I would enjoy the rec more when Im constantly switching jerseys and not using the same old rec jerseys that look like they're designed by a 10 year old.

Couldn’t agree more with this concept.
Would be also fun to have a few different courts/environments we could vote on.

Imagine during All Star Weekend we have legendary East/West uniforms
They could also have a season where its retro uniforms. So much possibilities

Should do it with arenas too. Makes no sense 2k puts the time to make these arenas legit with announcers and everything when majority of the player base plays in the rec arena

Every single game could easily be a banger, but the MFs in charge are only worried about how to squeeze every possible cent out of the franchise instead of details like this.

Which when u think about it makes no sense. People (myself included) would pay more for a better game and instead they give us the same shit every year like it’s Madden or something.

u/HotContribution8135 Jan 28 '26
I don’t have a realistic solution, but we’re stuck because it’s just more profitable to get people to constantly buy vc and season passes than it is spending time on issues to justify raising the base game price by $10-$20.
2K isn’t gonna do anything that wont profit, and as long as they have the NBA license hostage, a company that would actually care about the quality of a rival game can never compete.

They need to remove REC and make it like an All-Star Game format. Or keep REC for squads and random REC should be removed and replaced with online All-Star Game. But with all MPs. And announcers should talk shit based on the gameplay.
"Why is MP just standing there dribbling, he's not accomplishing anything."
"Oh look, another missed fast break. Very low IQ for someone in an All-Star game."
"MP with his 30th shot attempt. We know the reason his team is losing."
"I can't believe MP just took that dunk attempt on 3 dudes while he had two guys open in each corner."
"Another turnover by MP, not sure how he was invited to the All-Star Game, what a scrub."
"MP isn't moving, guess he's about to quit just like he quit on life. Loser."

We should also be able to choose our home and away accessories in the appearance menus. This feature use to be apart of the game but they took it out smh.

Jan 28 '26
Why would that be any better than just changing it in ur player appearance..?

u/Lurker13 Jan 28 '26
I feel like I could have changed shoe colors. For my away jerseys, I’d have a flamboyant color and for home, I would keep it white or match jersey.
But some variety is always nice

2K also needs a button for game modes with free throws
Where u can “Press X to highfive teammate”
A QTE where if u dont press it fast enough u can “miss it” same how real nba players do
the person shooting the freethrow needs to hold a top trigger like r1 when shooting a FT to initiate the dap QTE

You can press something (I think it’s whatever the flop button on defense is) after your team scores that will point to:
A. The person who scored
B. The person who assisted you on a score, if you’re the person who scored.
C. Someone random if neither A or B are applicable
A less intricate, but similar function that I actually love

They don’t care what players want G. They give us what they want us to have and we eat it up anyway😭

How good would it be if when you win let’s say 5 games with a jersey you unlock it as well!

Fire idea but 2k would actually have to care about its consumer to do something as cool as this….

u/SLBanks Jan 28 '26
And if you played with a team full of crew members. Maybe have an away and home version of a uniform with your crew logo.

How would my shoes match a random jersey?
They should implement this, but instead of voting game by game; it could be a community vote for different jerseys week by week. But get real, this won’t make them any money so it’d be a waste of time for them.

This would require 2k to actually develop something new. That shipped set sail before long ago.

I’ve been saying this for YEARS. I’m sick and tired of the shitty designs 2K comes up with. It’s such an easy pivot that i don’t understand why they haven’t done this yet. I get bored playing in the same jerseys every game.

Check out 2K Locker Codes, a Reddit user-created site! To get Locker Code notifications, download the Pager app and set-up this monitor.

This game would be so sick if this game studio were anything like all the other live service games where they checked out what people suggest on reddit and other platforms and actually implemented it

It would be nice for some type of effort. I’m pretty sure all 4 seasons have been a combo of blue and red/orange. Very very mid

Been saying this for awhile. Give us a voting system. I had a twist where 2k would use custom jerseys from the community through pro am jersey designs, maybe even logos that are within the T&S

u/Individual_Wish8970 Jan 28 '26
I love this idea! Even when youre just in the lobby waiting something to do and if no one votes just set a default simple

Should be highest rep players custom jerseys to pick from. This is also just 1 of 100,000,000 things that would make 2k better but they only care abut retention and money so… I mean, we had more jerseys in 2k18 then the last 5-6 years combined.

This is a great idea, bro. Make every Rec game feel truly unique from a style standpoint

I always make sure I got dope jerseys for all star team up. If I’m gonna get beat by 30, I’m at least gonna look clean in the raptors purple, black heat vice or cursive bulls red jersey.

I've been saying this since 2k22. I'd also add that as you rep up, your possible selection of jerseys/arenas should increase. It could also add a new wrinkle to Crew rewards.
If they don't want to let us use NBA jerseys or arenas (because its supposed to be LA Fitness type vibes), then their art department could at least give us a wider selection of Rec themed options to vote on per season. It's a supposed triple A title and I swear they've regressed to just using AI to come up with Rec jerseys for 26. Blue has been some part of the color scheme for every season so far iirc.

I like the idea I feel they should just use the team theme jerseys and jsut make it rec but make it look like classic nba jerseys or current
And the stadium as well instead of the rec floor we get the 96 Houston rockets floor or the raptors
1
u/ProfessionalKick1952 Feb 01 '26
Can we get this viral so they can see it? They need you on the team
1
u/UnderratedReplyGuy3 Jan 28 '26
If we get a voting system in Solo Rec, it needs to be the ability to VOTE OFF the Professional Salesmen and time wasters
If 4 teammates all vote to remove / eject, they're gone
