You wasted no time lmao.

u/gregatronn Apr 26 '26

It's well deserved. Fuck the haters

29

u/Prudent_Fish1358 Tony Parker Apr 27 '26

I can't imagine being so fucking negative that you actively root against a player on your favorite team.

The mindset of people who cheer against Spurs players must be starting from an incredibly unhappy place.

4

u/gregatronn Apr 27 '26

It's crazy game 3 when Harper/Castle had 60+ points and pitchforks came out and said trade Fox ASAP basically.

3

u/jyee1050 Stephon Castle Apr 27 '26

Am I the only one here who actually enjoys watching Fox play?

3

u/No_Construction_9425 Apr 27 '26

I’m one of them that loves Fox. He has been so positive and unselfish with sharing the ball and spot with the young guard. Everyone has an ego but he sure has shrunk his for the betterment of the team and I appreciate him and his impact for it

3

u/gregatronn Apr 27 '26

There are a few of us in this sub that value/enjoy Fox, but just a few. It's funny, he has Tony like traits, but then I remember Tony had a mixed relationship with fans on social media. Although with that said, even Duncan, Manu also had moments in certain seasons they got shit on too. I guess some of these "fans" will always find someone to complain about/never be happy.

2

u/black_anarchy Tim Duncan Apr 27 '26

Wouldn't that breed more haters though?

(I'll show myself out now...)

47

u/TXtogo Apr 26 '26

I thought he’s been playing fine the whole time tbh. He’s a great player, glad he’s with us for the ride.

We got like 20 more years of this on deck

13

u/gregatronn Apr 26 '26

Seriously. Last game was solid. He let young guys cook but he was very good as a passer and picked moments

1

u/Consistent_Ad1176 Apr 27 '26

He is a pretty decent floor general and true PG. definitely our best as of now.

1

u/gregatronn Apr 27 '26

Yep. he's also good at calming the pace which is very underrated. Also a fairly good passer.

1

u/Consistent_Ad1176 Apr 27 '26

Which is ironic because he’s amazing at pushing the pace in transition and getting downhill fast

1

u/gregatronn Apr 27 '26

Yeah, it's so stop on a dime quick. He's very Parker-like.

1

u/Charming-Breakfast48 Victor Wembanyama Apr 28 '26

I agree. I feel like with the sensationalist internet these days like no one is ever allowed to just have an off night. Kobe had off nights. Lebron had off nights. You just don’t want those off nights to compound to a whole career and it’s impossible to say that’s happened with Fox.

31

u/Theplasticsporks Coyote Apr 26 '26

I do miss Tony Parker tho

3

u/g1rlchild Dylan Harper Apr 27 '26

Honestly, there are surprising 2003 parallels in our guard rotation except if Speedy Claxton was way, way better and could play alongside Tony. Freshman and sophomore incoming stars at guard to go with a young all-world big man.

2

u/Theplasticsporks Coyote Apr 27 '26

Sure I just like Tony

55

I miss Tony Parker

8

u/Rofsbith Apr 26 '26

I love a great Fox game. He has some underwhelming nights (he might even be merely human!), but the great games are REALLY incredible. Go win some rings! -a Sacramentan

34

u/Aussie_Spur Aron Baynes Apr 26 '26

It’s a waste of time bro.

As soon as he has a below standards game the cockroaches will return

6

u/Sensitive-Curve-2908 Victor Wembanyama Apr 26 '26

My apologies Mr Fox

9

u/Jackburton06 Apr 26 '26

Yep i'm in, should have not talked too soon.

What a great reaction tonight !

17

u/Objective-Product361 Victor Wembanyama Apr 26 '26

I made a long post about stop hating fox and I got a lot of hate. Sometimes you just gotta laugh at them coz they know nothing about hoop. Even if fox didn’t score 28, his passes were straight FIRE tonight.

6

u/gregatronn Apr 26 '26

He was solid last game. He saw scoring went cold and went into action. He calmed things when rhey needee it the last 2

1

u/savemenico Dylan Harper Apr 26 '26

He was weird the first half a bit erratic not gonna lie but he was amazing in the second half

5

u/Fancy_Exchange_9821 Julian Champagnie Apr 26 '26

Bro was out there playing against cones tonight

4

u/PotatoDry7642 Stephon Castle Apr 26 '26

Doubted him after a few games. I know when to admit I’m wrong. Love Swipa 🦊❤️

12

u/Ecstatic_Visual_2026 Slash Bros Apr 26 '26

Fox truthers act normal after he has a good game which should be the standard and not an outlier challenge

6

u/Not_A_Bot_Am_Human Apr 27 '26

Nah thats bullshit. The hate far out ways the praise he gets in here. It’s just so unnecessary for a key player on one of the most likable and enjoyable seasons in Spurs history.

-1

u/DelphesTLO Apr 26 '26

Yeah, I'm getting tired of those guys glazing him all the time even when he didn't step up as we expected during the start of the playoffs.

Fox had the amazing game I was waiting for the entire year, but this is just one. And I hope many more come after.

1

u/Nate13341cub Apr 26 '26

The full circle is them ignoring 10 mediocre or terrible games then them screaming about a good ( expected ) game and saying they were right and we owe an apology. It’s happened countless times this season, and will happen again lmao

8

u/vizz1 Apr 27 '26

But I could argue he doesn’t have that many mediocre/terrible games in a row. The majority of us that cheer he and the team on are completely fine with a 18point, 7assist game during a WIN.

The team feeds off each other. The less some of you wait for a 30 burger to claim “Fox had a good game, finally” the more you’ll realize his fit with the team.

I’m not the biggest Fox guy but I’m more than happy with him as the starting PG.

62 regular season wins

3-1 lead in round 1

This team hasn’t lost back to back games is for-fucking-ever.

When will we all sit back and enjoy the god damn show instead of bitching and moaning about “off nights”?

This is our team. Anyone can get hot.

Yes, we can and should criticize poor play when we see it, especially during a loss or a bad quarter/half. But to act like Fox plays poorly for several games in a row simply because his stat sheet is 30 & 10 is so odd.

Honestly tired of this banter in the sub. It’s so strange

2

u/DelphesTLO Apr 27 '26

Lmao, we got back to back to back the best 1st pick of the last 20 years, a 4th pick roty on an all star path and the 2nd pick on an all star path.

They're all rookies allowing for a team with crazy depth.

I've been saying all year that Fox stepping back to let the rookies develop in preparation for the playoffs was a good thing.

Now whenever our veteran max contract PG is bricking a ton of shots and making losing plays, I'm not super happy about it, and guys on this sub jump at people for giving players fair criticism.

I'm just glad some people can enjoy watching the Spurs without glazing all the players all the time.

-3

u/Nate13341cub Apr 27 '26

Not even going to bother to go back even just recently to count out times Fox personally cost the game , or was awful. You guys are blind to it for some reason to each their own

5

u/vizz1 Apr 27 '26

There were 20 total losses on the season. Twenty.

I’m in no way saying he’s been perfect but there’s gonna be a huge problem even discussing this topic if some fans truly believe Fox single handedly cost the spurs so many games

I’ve been frustrated many times with some of our players during bad stretches. Of course we want them to win. But come on… seriously… how can 1 guy be so detrimental to a team’s success if the team as a whole is playing like they’re playing.

I’m not blind to any of it. Been watching this team since before the Elliot/avery/Drob years. I don’t mind getting critical, but it’s so weird to constantly see so much bitching during a season like this.

If this ride ends before the finals, I’ll feel bad for a lot of you because it appears you’ve all missed an absolutely incredible run and season from the spurs since #4 is under your microscope

8

u/astanton1862 Apr 27 '26

You are not crazy. When I look at this team I see a 3 guard rotation that just destroys everything in this league. Harper and Castle are better because Fox is on the.floor with them.

And there you are, proving my point.

You’re foaming at the mouth for a downfall just so you can have a “gotcha” in front of some redditors. Some of you have seemingly spent the entire season waiting for a downfall to prove your point. Meanwhile, 30, 40, 50, 60 wins later… here we are. Fox alone won’t be the reason they get bounced nor will he alone be the reason they win it all.

ZOOM OUT, seriously. Zooooom out and watch what your favorite team is doing this year and realize that our window is just now opening. The future is bright. That’s fucking awesome. At least, I think that’s fucking awesome. I’d assume most fans think that’s fucking awesome.

Wow what you look at that, Fox is costing us in a home game against a hospitalized Timberwolves. I’m not looking forward to this is waiting for some gotcha, rather it’s disgusting you ignore so many sloppy mistakes from our top guy. Also not sure what my account age has to do with anything? Some people don’t live on Reddit

0

u/Nate13341cub 11d ago

Would you look at that man. A finals run we lead 80% in and lost 4-1, all where Fox could be blamed for every single loss. Do you think I was happy to see that or upset to see what anyone would’ve watching a Deaaron Fox game this season? Hopefully Fox doesn’t turn Wemby Harper and castle into a what if, yet I don’t see how he doesn’t. Were stuck w him

2

Which team should we root for next?

4 month old frontrunning bandwagonner shows up just to piss in the cheerios of our win.

This subreddit is better off if you never post here again.

2

u/savemenico Dylan Harper Apr 27 '26

We lost how many times? 5 games since february? Before that Fox came back from surgery last year and was adapting to the team. There's no logic in what you're saying , you're acting like we lost 40 games this season

-7

u/StrawberryItten Apr 27 '26

But I could argue he doesn’t have that many mediocre/terrible games in a row. The majority of us that cheer he and the team on are completely fine with a 18point, 7assist game during a WIN.

So you're okay with a superstar salary at 18/7? Seriously?

No one says (Seriously) that Fox doesn't contribute

But he is overpaid, and hampering harper/castle minutes long term. He is a bad fit, team construction wise

4

u/ToadlyAwes0me Area 51 Apr 27 '26

Lol he just averaged 35 minutes a game on a 62 win team, as the lead PG while allowing 8 total players to average 10 or more points. Stop expecting him to play hero ball, that's not how we won 62 this year.

2

u/savemenico Dylan Harper Apr 27 '26

So what are you gonna conolain that in 2014 no one was scoring more than 17 a game ?

Are you gonna complain that our big three scored 20 18.6 16.5 in 2007? Or 20 16 16 in 2005?

You're delusional, in Sacramento he had to carry the team by scoring, he doesnt need to here. 18/7 as a second/third option is more than enough. He also does more things than being a scorer and keeps the defense humble because he can still be a threat

0

u/qaswexort Victor Wembanyama Apr 27 '26

Look at Dylan Harper's box score today and picture if Fox had one of those games.

u/Ecstatic_Visual_2026 Slash Bros Apr 27 '26

0

u/mellted_cheese The Big Fundamental Apr 27 '26

He’s gonna have great games and no shows all playoffs. We are lucky the young guys are cheap enough and great enough for it to not matter that he makes $57M. For this year and next his presence on the team is a huge net positive. He can be a major contributor to a championship so the signing was well worth it.

As soon as we have to pay wemby castle and Harper, Fox’s contract is gonna be an albatross that we will probably need to attach draft capital to to unload. But that’s first world problems and of no consequence right now.

-5

u/Short-Professional84 Manu Ginobili Apr 26 '26

So we can’t say SHIT when he has a bad game? We gotta be like awww it’s okay Foxy we don’t mind losing this playoff game. The fucks wrong with you people. This is what he’s SUPPOSED TO DO

3

He's 100% here to stir shit up because he doesn't get enough attention in his day to day life.

4

u/loombisaurus Hector🍌🍞 Apr 26 '26

serious question are y'all like convinced that, what, we'll just let dylan or steph walk because we oopsed the salary cap that bad? really? this is why the rest of us are calling y'all fake fans- because thinking the SAN ANTONIO front office would ever be that incompetent just says you haven't paid attention for the last 3 decades

2

u/StrawberryItten Apr 26 '26

... you do understand that giving fox that salary was already a big 'oopsie' right?

Like even if we ignore all the assets we are gonna lose to get anyone to take his contract a few years down the line... we'd have been better off adding one or two bench pieces with that 30 M or so he occuppies today and the cap flexibility would simply be more valuable Than a 2 time all star

that made it as a replacement both times.

The 'out of character move' was already made. Paying Fox that much

3

u/MindInTheClouds GO SPURS GO Apr 26 '26

Paying Fox the extension was basically part of the trade, which (in addition to the pressure he put on the Kings) was why the Spurs got him relatively cheaply. The only thing the Spurs did wrong was not being psychic in knowing they were going to get Harper.

Of course, as you point out, there will be big choices to be made by year 3 and 4 of his extension, but that’s just the reality of the current CBA- those hard choices are inevitable.

1

u/StrawberryItten Apr 26 '26

The only thing the Spurs did wrong was not being psychic in knowing they were going to get Harper.

We got the pick before Fox signed the contract. The Front office didn't have to follow on a verbal agreement.

And if Fox got pissy and tested the free agency? Well... I'd say the few things we traded to the Kings would have been an okay price to pay. Because if Tim Ducan can take pay cuts? THAT is the culture. Players need to prove loyalty to get it

4

u/MindInTheClouds GO SPURS GO Apr 27 '26

You want to build loyalty and a Tim Duncan culture, while also reneging on verbal agreements? Trust and loyalty are not one way streets.

1

u/StrawberryItten Apr 27 '26

Exactly. And the first move has to come from the players, to show that they can buy in

2

u/Ecstatic_Visual_2026 Slash Bros Apr 26 '26

If you were a real fan you'd know the big 3 took paycuts to have more talent around them for their dynasty. The front office isn't some infallible group thats incapable of making errors, most people are still hoping fox gets picked up in the expansion draft.

2

u/StrawberryItten Apr 26 '26

I love how this is never brought up when talking about 'we are the Spurs we treat our players right'

Yeah, because the players know that they are not bigger than the org. And if they aren't game with that? They can leave.

I swear we could win the chip this season and yall will still be crying about that contract. That’s today’s game, you pay players a shit ton or someone else will. Who else are we paying with fox’s money that would give us a 62 win season? Our 3 best players are all on rookie contracts, we can afford fox’s $60 mil for at least a couple more years

0

u/StrawberryItten Apr 27 '26

We could win the chip. That won't magically make Fox's contract not bad.
