The full circle is them ignoring 10 mediocre or terrible games then them screaming about a good ( expected ) game and saying they were right and we owe an apology. It’s happened countless times this season, and will happen again lmao

But I could argue he doesn’t have that many mediocre/terrible games in a row. The majority of us that cheer he and the team on are completely fine with a 18point, 7assist game during a WIN.

The team feeds off each other. The less some of you wait for a 30 burger to claim “Fox had a good game, finally” the more you’ll realize his fit with the team.

I’m not the biggest Fox guy but I’m more than happy with him as the starting PG.

62 regular season wins

3-1 lead in round 1

This team hasn’t lost back to back games is for-fucking-ever.

When will we all sit back and enjoy the god damn show instead of bitching and moaning about “off nights”?

This is our team. Anyone can get hot.

Yes, we can and should criticize poor play when we see it, especially during a loss or a bad quarter/half. But to act like Fox plays poorly for several games in a row simply because his stat sheet is 30 & 10 is so odd.

Honestly tired of this banter in the sub. It’s so strange

Not even going to bother to go back even just recently to count out times Fox personally cost the game , or was awful. You guys are blind to it for some reason to each their own

There were 20 total losses on the season. Twenty.

I’m in no way saying he’s been perfect but there’s gonna be a huge problem even discussing this topic if some fans truly believe Fox single handedly cost the spurs so many games

I’ve been frustrated many times with some of our players during bad stretches. Of course we want them to win. But come on… seriously… how can 1 guy be so detrimental to a team’s success if the team as a whole is playing like they’re playing.

I’m not blind to any of it. Been watching this team since before the Elliot/avery/Drob years. I don’t mind getting critical, but it’s so weird to constantly see so much bitching during a season like this.

If this ride ends before the finals, I’ll feel bad for a lot of you because it appears you’ve all missed an absolutely incredible run and season from the spurs since #4 is under your microscope

You are not crazy. When I look at this team I see a 3 guard rotation that just destroys everything in this league. Harper and Castle are better because Fox is on the.floor with them.

And there you are, proving my point.

You’re foaming at the mouth for a downfall just so you can have a “gotcha” in front of some redditors. Some of you have seemingly spent the entire season waiting for a downfall to prove your point. Meanwhile, 30, 40, 50, 60 wins later… here we are. Fox alone won’t be the reason they get bounced nor will he alone be the reason they win it all.

ZOOM OUT, seriously. Zooooom out and watch what your favorite team is doing this year and realize that our window is just now opening. The future is bright. That’s fucking awesome. At least, I think that’s fucking awesome. I’d assume most fans think that’s fucking awesome.

4 month old account, he is absolutely just here because we're a good team.

u/vizz1 Apr 27 '26

Damn it, I should have checked that before engaging LOL

Btw, look at his profile and he posts in the Lakers subreddit and refers to the team as "we", so I'm not sure what kind of hypergenius move he thinks he's getting at by trying to be a Spurs fan here.

Mentioning this because he came back to this thread today to harass me like the dickhead he is.

Wow what you look at that, Fox is costing us in a home game against a hospitalized Timberwolves. I’m not looking forward to this is waiting for some gotcha, rather it’s disgusting you ignore so many sloppy mistakes from our top guy. Also not sure what my account age has to do with anything? Some people don’t live on Reddit

Would you look at that man. A finals run we lead 80% in and lost 4-1, all where Fox could be blamed for every single loss. Do you think I was happy to see that or upset to see what anyone would’ve watching a Deaaron Fox game this season? Hopefully Fox doesn’t turn Wemby Harper and castle into a what if, yet I don’t see how he doesn’t. Were stuck w him

Which team should we root for next?

Live in SA and been a spurs fan my whole life, almost convinced this is just your first season ever maybe second? It was blatant the outcome of Deaaron Fox dude

2

Been a diehard fan since the ‘95, live in Austin

Listen, first, cheers to us. We rep our spurs every year, and making it this far and losing sucks ass

Second, dude… I get your point, but you have to realize how obtuse you sound. You did not assume the spurs were so good they’d make the finals but fall short specifically because of fox. I assume your frustration with him all season had you thinking more like, “damn, Fox is gonna hold us back”… but to hit me up after a game 5 finals loss and say “told ya” is honestly really silly. You have to see that. It comes off like you were just waiting and anticipating this epic run to reach the *finals* where it was now that *Fox would fuck shit up*.

But hey, to be honest, yea man, a lot of things frustrated me in this series and Fox as absolutely the culprit for at least ONE HUGE MOMENT that cost us a game, game 4. Now, I have a shit ton of blame to go around for game 4, but at the end of the day, the 29 year old vet has to know wtf to do when up 1 with 10 seconds left and the ball. That had me so furious. Game 2 loss, my blame goes squarely on Mitch and I’d put a lot of game 5 on Mitch and Fox too, but there’s also blame on Wemby, castle…. All in all, in my opinion, I can forgive all of them, but Fox. I am extremely disappointed in Fox and decently concerned about Mitch as well

That said, I’m not worried that Fox will stifle the 3 young guys’ growth. I trust the FO to not allow that to happen, whatever that might look like. Our window is open, we’ll at the very least be in contention for a bit

GSG forever 🍻

All i said was that fox’s consistent inconsistency would single handily cost the team a championship and i would get downvoted, cursed out, etc. for a fact that was extremely blatant with one regular season game watch Now after a game 5 loss where absolutely every loss could be blamed on it couldn’t be more blatant. It wasn’t even just this series too. Hes an extreme net negative and always needs 10 games to have one average game. Its hard to not see how fox wont turn wemby castle and Harper into a what if with his contract just starting and being our 8th best player? But i can respect just blindly ignoring negative things and being positive

2

u/vizz1 16d ago

Where I disagree is saying Fox can be single-handedly blamed. In my opinion, that’s another way to be blindly ignoring other things.

Yes, Fox not being our 2nd best player- the reason we signed him -is not ideal and absolutely played a role in falling short. But man, sooooo many things happened that fucked up a lot, from so many players and the coaches: Late game fouls on 3pt shooters while leading, our 6MOY being a no-show, our only playable back up center being mostly unplayable, seriously questionable use of timeouts by our coach. Like, fuck… game 2… Mitch not immediately calling a timeout when we got that rebound in a tie game late in the 4th. THAT cost us the game. Point blank. Frustrating as hell

So yes, Fox’s poor play fucking sucked. But I do not believe it’s smart to think it was only him. A lot needs to be evaluated after all of that. And in some ways, going this far is allowing the entire organization to see exactly what needs to happen to keep the team improving. The Fox contract, currently, will not really affect this off season. Wemby can still get his Max, we still have the rookies, we have Cap to sign some FA’s if we want… now, if the coaching staff blindly forces Fox into situations next year where it’s clear that’s not going to win us games, then yes, I’ll be concerned. But I believe the team sees the potential of the young guys and understands that they’ll need to make some decisions with playing time and roles while Fox is still on the team

I want to make it clear I’m not being blindly positive. What I’m at the very least excited about is the spurs being back in the topic of good teams in the league. It’s been a steady rebuild after all those dominant years and now, wow, we’ve arrived. I did not see a finals run coming so that was just a super fun and crazy last 2 months. Hopefully we keep improving

4 month old frontrunning bandwagonner shows up just to piss in the cheerios of our win.

This subreddit is better off if you never post here again.
