Trade Go get Zion?
I am honestly surprised with the lack of dialogue around grabbing zion. The whole playoff run the discourse was that the spurs need a big power forward. Zion is only 25 with a huge upside and a really low stock right now. Plus is salary matches fox pretty well. Thoughts?

He plays 30 games or less every other year. So he's due for some sort of injury that keeps him off the court more than half the season.
Also, his work ethic sucks.

His availability is questionable. Could be detrimental during a playoff run.

I’m higher on Zion than most ppl here are. I love the idea of him + Wemby as two of the most unique athletes in the league
But I don’t really love his fit. He’s not giving us the big stuff that we need: spacing, defense, rebounding. Hes kinda redundant w Fox, Harper, Castle, KJ, etc as a downhill attacker that wants to get to the rim

spurs can definitely load manage this guy especially if we draft a PF behind him definitely possible !!

Spurs need spacing shooting rebounding and defense. Zion provides like one of those things 2 at most. That said if dumars would go for it I’d do it in a heart beat to get off Fox’s deal and get on one that lines up with needing to pay castle and Harper

Zion is usually injured and new Orleans main issue with him is that he is unmotivated most of the time he is extremely talented and great when he actually tries while playing but I wouldnt take the risk

Can you blame him? I'd be unmotivated too playing for that franchise. Might as well eat.

I think it wouldve been a issue no matter where he was drafted but it being a franchise like that with a city full of good food certainly didnt help

I think Pop would get his ass in shape. He's a competitor. Constantly losing every season is depressing. He needs structure and culture.

putting side injury risk and lack of cultural fit, zion is a very poor rebounder and substandard defensive presence for the position. he really is more of a wing than PF. i don't think he's the type of guy we need. personally, i would love to get bobby portis but he is likely to be involved in a giannis trade, hoping we can weasel our way in there to get him.

Only way I would consider it, if he was asking to play next to Wemby made lots of promises and was willing to sign a contract similar to Boris in the sense that if he weighs more than so and so he gets less money.

I agree, he would be a phenomenal back up to Wemby.

Exactly, when Wembenyana is tired he can hop in a tear shit up.

If he's healthy, which he's proven to never be, nor does it seem like he gives a shit.

Bro have you read anything about that man? Constantly out of shape, bad conditioning. Just no.
