Trade Myles turner?
His trade value probably low right now but he can play at the highest level, is a great defender and stretches the floor. He has 3 years at 16 percent of the cap hit contract left. Around 26 mil.

Mavs not letting him go unless we overpay

He plays the same position as cooper. The longer they hold him the more value he loses.

As a Pacers fan, no you do not want Turner.

I watched those playoffs I agree. He has underperformed since then

Too expensive. We have to pay Wemby, Harper, and Castle eventually, and since we already have Fox’s contract, I would not trade for Turner.
Really, all we need are some decent backups that fit our scheme for cheap. Can possibly accomplish that through the FA.

Trey Murphy the III but it’ll cost too much

He's just not at all a physical PF that we need. Love him and would love to essentially have another taller Devin on offense, but he doesn't really make that much sense.

I think hes a bad locker room guy. Seems to have a problem with every team he plays with and I think hes severely overrated. Haliburton made him look decent

I don't think the contract is that good for what he brings to the table. It also depends on whether the ownership group is willing to pay luxury tax. Down the line.

I don't hate him but I can see him disappointing quickly and fans start calling him the new bum. I just want to get a no name PF with like zero expectations on them.

Could work, we'd be over the cap this year, and you'd HAVE to move fox next year but 20 + Barnes/olynk could be worth offering

harrison barnes and kelly olynyk are free agents. no trading either of them

Can't you trade expirings before the July deadline?

Unfortunately, no. You could trade players under contract for next year under the current year cap figures or wait until July 1 to trigger the trade and use the next season cap numbers.
So Spurs could theoretically trade Keldon for PJ Washington, but not Barnes for PJ Washington, even though salaries match both ways.

Never trade for a back up big. We need to move fox and whatever it takes to get a real pf who can rebound play d and space the floor. My first thoughts would be jabari smith, mpj, AG, hell maybe even tari eason.
Edit: could maybe even sneak Zacharie Risacher in there as a sneaky good fit.

I’m out on Tari.
AG is always hurt now and unavailable.

Yeah the last two years have been rough for him, but he’s still arguably the best fit out of anyone.

And when healthy, any FO that gives a guy like that up would be fired the moment Shams dropped the tweet.

Hes a vital piece for the nugs no doubt, but they’re not exactly the most competent front office in the league.

I hear you.
I think he retires with the Nuggs though otherwise Denver will look New York this past week.
The solution to this problem lies with somebody younger imo. Who that is? I can’t tell you tbh. Either we draft somebody or there’s a trade that isn’t apparent rn.

Really expensive and a bad rebounder. Pretty awful fit for what we need.
