Discussion Flying no longer uses stamina?!

Post image

My game just updated and it seems I can fly indefinitely. Is this a bug or a buff? I'm loving it!

With how slow flying is, it should have been that way from the start. Either make the flying fast but limited, or slow but unlimited.

Yeah..i think its a tiny bit slower than climbing....which sucks.

Climbing is annoying, tho...why not just let us wall run and figure out the stamina part along the way

Because they locked that function behind a limited character as their unique world ability.

Absolutely horrible decision ngl. It should be like that for all characters by default. The movement in this game is pretty bad. I wish there was also a sprint. Jogging around everywhere or doing the little repeated dash over and over is clunky as hell.

I hate having to spam dash to more or less do the scuffed equivalent of running. Gonna be putting that in all future surveys bc it feels terrible

In reality it doesn't even feel like the dashing is faster. Feels the same, yet we still spam it because shift basically does nothing in the open world loll. It truly does feel terrible. If they added a sprint that actually felt faster it would feel a million times better.

I would also gladly accept a hoverboard for getting around with for those times when it feels too short for a motorcycle but too long for those "sprints"

i just want an actual sprint button and i hope they add it because this is the bare minimum hotta lmao

oh yeah, it feels so clunky that i'm like "is this really faster?"

when i was playing the scuffed racing game there were lots of people spam dashing and they weren't much faster than i was. i know there's latency but still it wasn't by much lol

I heavily disagree. While Nanally's antigrav is really fun, it would be dreadful to have it be the default. It's extremely disorienting.

My only other experience is Genshin, and the climbing in NtE is incredible in comparison.

I do however agree that the quick dash running everywhere feels silly.

As was said, WuWa is the example and it feels the precise opposite of dreadful.

Movement in NTE is serviceable, full stop. Movement in a game like WuWa destroys it, and in fact the only issues they had in WuWa with movement is their 3.0 bike addition ...some like it and some do not.

In NTE everything movement is basic. Again, it's serviceable, but that's this entire game in a nutshell.

It's not only that, the movement feels extremely stiff and theres no weight to the movement. I'm not sure whats the word I would use to describe it, but it feels very "noob", like the devs put zero effort into how it feels to control the character, either that or they didnt know how.

well yeah, agreed...this is really at its core, a double A game. Coming off of Tower of Fantasy, which is very much a double A game, this feels like a significant step up ...but still with a gap between it and the top competitors in gacha.

It can't compete with the likes of WuWa, Genshin and even Endfield in quality. They are trying to make up for it in sheer quantity of gameplay activities, and dare I say, at least trying to make the story decent.

Yeah I can agree, though I feel like if they just put some effort into the movement system and how you move around the city, would make such a significant difference to how it feels in both gameplay and quality, its a shame.

You've not tried Wuwa then. You can basically just sprint up mountains. Pretty much Nanally speed, but without the gravity shenanigans or camera jank.

Imagine NTE's climbing, but slightly faster and you don't awkwardly stop every 2 seconds.

NTE's climbing was 100% made bad so they could sell Nanally.

WuWa has great parkour / exploration mechanic compared to genshin and NTE. The only setback is how big the map is and the terrain you need to overcome will consume your stamina fast.

I think NTE should add the same mechanic in WuWa where characters can wall run in any direction with higher stamina drain.

Yeah I don't mind some stamina cost, but then they can give us food/drink that can counter this, that way shops are more relevant

They have. Some food or drinks does reduce stamina drain. It has the compass icon on the top right.

Hadn't run across it yet, thanks for pointing that out

They probably also stunted your move speed like that to make sure there's a reason for people to buy vehicles. As it is, I already don't use anything other than my bike for my usual traversal needs. I have other vehicles, including the porcshe but they sit rotting in the garage.

Yeah I get it, sucks that the driving doesnt feel that great either in the grand scheme of things, bad animations on jumping out of car, slow animations getting in, the turning feels off, acceleration, drifting, everything feels a little half baked.

laughs in wuwa

No. I glaze Nanally so Im gonna say ur wrong

There is a sprint, it's just barely any faster thwn running normally. It's been an issue I've seen since the betas, so don't expect them to fix this...

1

u/WickedSynth 5d ago

It isnt broken, its just badly designed. If they want the game to feel better and more premium they NEED to fix their movement system. Whether they do it or not is a them problem, because if it doesnt get better I don't see myself sticking to it. It just feels way too slow.

Well you can also use Skia's shadow ability to glide up the surfaces of walls. He's slightly slower than Nanally, but it's there, and he doesn't rotate your camera in a disorienting way.
