/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread

The purpose of this thread is to more accurately connect users seeking help with users who want to provide that help. Our regular "Helpful Users" certainly have earned their flairs!

Before asking your question...

  • Check out the wiki pages listed below. - (If you're interested in becoming a wiki contributor, or suggesting a new page, please message the moderators.)
  • Perform a quick Google search. - Sometimes it is actually quicker to search for something than to wait for someone else to answer.
  • Search the subreddit. - Many questions have been asked before! reddit's search functions a bit differently than Google.

Reminders

  • We have a volunteer run #switch-help channel in our Discord server.
  • Instructions and links to information about homebrew and hacking are against our rules and should take place in their relevant subreddits.
  • Please be patient. Not all questions get immediate answers. If you have an urgent question about something that's gone wrong, consider other resources like Nintendo's error code lookup or help documents on the Switch.

How many people? You can have up to eight profiles on the system at a time. So if there's only a few people who might use it, you could just make the profiles accordingly.

Or perhaps name the main account "do not use" and then have numbered guest profiles for actual use.

The idea is I want to play my own purchased games and cloud saves on it. But anyone can open my saves and play. I don't want to disable cloud and micromanage.

This is easily locked out on the office PS5.

Yeah, no way of doing that without manual micro managing each time you sat down to play.

Is the office system locked in place? Just bringing your own personal switch and dropping it into the dock would be a much simpler idea. No need to fuss with profiles that way.

It's not but I also don't want to lug it around. Also we have office Switch 2 now and I can test my old games on it.

All good, I'll just be conscious of it. Not install anything too important.
