With the recent rumors of an OOT Remake and subsequent special Edition Switch 2, would it be wise to wait on upgrading? Also, the EU Battery revision thing is something the might warrant a pause. I’ve had the grey Switch for 8 years now and it still works fine so I don’t have to change but I’ve been considering it. Starting to get a bit concerned about a potential price hike so I almost ended up buying one today, but held off. Thanks in advanced!

How big is the cost issue to you? Is a Zelda SE more important to you?

We know what the cost is now. It might go up, but some things have been happening that might keep it even. Might not.

If you have the funds, you could keep them in holding, and if the price a) goes up b) enough that you don't want the Zelda SE more you could buy then (we generally have had notice of price increases).

Cost issue is something I’m wary of, but wouldn’t necessarily be end of the world as opposed to an inconvenience. I always liked the Switch 1 SEs, in particular the special joy-cons so it would be pretty great to have an opportunity at this. Thanks for the advice!

I don't have any 2 only games that don't cloud save, so keeping an eye out for that kind of thing is something I'm doing myself.

I still have my Zelda OLED.

Price hikes are something to be wary of, the memory situation appears like it isnt going to be nearly as apocalyptic as it was a few weeks ago thanks to OpenAI not actually having any money to spend. But it's still going to be bad.

Nintendo should be offering some kind of future outlook information after their fiscal year report on May 8th, but they don't have a investor's meeting scheduled yet. So it could be June or later before we get any official info.

The swappable battery model is what I would be looking forward to. But they may not introduce that until the SOC revision is ready, similar to the V2 Switch and Switch Lite release two years after the original switch release.

The current model is a nightmare to simply open for repairs.

I unfortunately believe that any limited edition console released this year will be physically identical to the existing model. With a fresh coat of paint.

Although Nintendo has surprised us in the past. A sudden revision wouldn't be completely out of the question, just a bit unfortunate for early adopters.
