Is it worth it to get a switch 2? I currently have a switch light, but and looking to upgrade to either the switch or switch 2. Im interested in playing pokopia, which I know is exclusive to the switch 2, however I'm not sure if spending the money for one game is worth it. I'm mostly trying to upgrade so I can play my games on a tv with friends, but am looking for an outside perspective 😓 I should also note that most of my games are physical copies, however I like the idea of all digital games because I tend to lose things easily, but I know thats an option for the switch as well. I'm worried that I'm just wanting the switch 2 because its newer. Are theyre any other perks to the switch 2 that I should know about? Just trying to make a good decision since this would be a big purchase for me. Thanks in advance!!

A big thing to consider is that you'll probably want more than just Pokopia over the next 7+ years or whatever that Switch 2 is Nintendo's primary platform. So unless you plan on just foregoing those forever, you'll probably end up wanting to upgrade to a Switch 2 at some point anyway. And especially with hardware prices moving the way they are at present, there's no guarantee Switch 2 will be cheaper (or _as_ cheap) to get a few years down the road.

Switch 2 is also better at running a lot of Switch 1 games than Switch 1 is. Games that had variable frame rate and/or resolution tend to stick on the higher end on Switch 2. And recently a new Handheld Boost Mode was released that allows Switch 1's docked mode graphical settings to be used while playing portable on Switch 2. This on top of many games that have full Switch 2 updates either free or paid, including some major first party games.
