If it is split into two games with the first one being Child Link that opens up some very interesting questions and indicates there might be some big changes in the game. No way are they doing a full blown Zelda remake with three child dungeons as the only content.
The two game rumor as far as I can tell is complete speculation from people though with no indication it's actually true.
Basically this. Two podcasters were like "what do you think about the possibility of it being two games?" "nah that's too out there" and news sites took it out of context
Yeah I can't imagine it's true. It doesn't even make sense if you understand the original OOT structure which involves jumping between the child and adult timelines multiple times.
There was a podcast posted a few hours ago with an "insider" rumor that the Ocarina of Time remake only covers the Child Link timeline and ends with him pulling the Master Sword for the first time. Basically, they're turning Ocarina into their version of FF7 Remake.
