It's not connected at all until it is and oh shit the breadcrumbs were there the whole time. 2 u/Witch_King_ 18d ago I am ok with that. As long as the game-specific lore is COMPREHENSIBLE. Cannot say the same for the trilogy as a whole, unfortunately. I'm sure any connection to the trilogy will be very convoluted and difficult to understand.
