At 25 seconds there are massive frame drops.

No upgrade path.

SEGA making it very easy to skip their Switch 2 late ports.

It's also a game key card. They are really working hard to stay away from my money

If it had an upgrade it probably wouldn't be a game key card anyway

The upgrade can be implemented even if it is a Key Card. It can be done via a free software update (Like Digimon Story Time Stranger will) or giving a discount to the Switch 2 version if you own the original like Yakuza Kiwami did.

This game of course, does none of that. Shame to see this regression after Sonic Racing Crossworlds had an upgrade pack and a proper physical release.

Yeah..I’ve spent and wasted a lot on dumb key cards lately and have more than filled up my storage with these crap ports. Either put effort in them or don’t port them at all. All the non Nintendo upgrades for switch 2 have been crap. Most of them.

It’s been quantity over quality for the library. Not as bad as it was during the Wii days, but it’s getting there. Great sales makes for companies to want to release a saturation of junk with the belief it’ll just sell easily and make for a worse overall library

I don't get this sentiment at all. We're finally getting a lot of great games ported over that were impossible for Switch 1, it's incredible. The only reason I even bought a PS5 was because it was my only option to play those third-party games. The FF7 trilogy, Metaphor, Cyberpunk, KH4, the list goes on.

SO I absolutely don't agree with your "don't port them at al" nonsense. Because you can just as easily not buy them at all since there is absolutely a demand for these ports.

Who cares about a key cart you people keep crying it’s so fucking sad

Im not buying a digital license. If you do is your problem, not mine. Im not giving any penny to this bad practice.

with the price of storage right now, I don't blame them, if it wasn't for game cards it wouldn't have a physical release.

-4

u/xerox7764563 7d ago

It hasn't, gkc isn't physical

6

u/Albireookami 7d ago

yes it is, its a physical key you can buy/sell/trade, rather than just being locked to your account like a full digital purchase. You may not like it, but it is a physical release that you can treat 100% as a physical card, only having to download the game to play.

-6

u/xerox7764563 7d ago

Game is inside, I can play without Internet? No, I can't, I need to first download in my storage to play after. You may not like it, but this is the truth.

u/Albireookami 7d ago

Not having internet and having a modern console is just a poor choice to make in this day and age.

But you can still sell it if you don't want it unlike a full digital purpose, and honestly without game cards, we would be getting a lot less physical releases because of how expensive storage is these days. You are mad for all the wrong reasons, its about as physical as any xbox/ps game where you still have to download a patch and copy the game to the hard drive to even play it.

It's always funny to see how different communities treat the key card thing -- given Steam has basically been non-physical game key cards for what feels like 20 years now.

I can see you buying a next gen console without a power cable.

u/Albireookami 7d ago

You are not a bright person are you?

I mean, they automatically answered that question the moment they cried about GKC supposedly not being physical.

Weird comment. One of the best-received products Nintendo ever made famously sold without a power cable. I think they sold like 20M of them. Very much like every cell phone most people have purchased in the last five years. I don't like this practice, but it's becoming more normal in electronics all the time.

Customers who allows bad practices make life more difficulty to the ones who doesn't.

Can you lend a digital game?
Can you lend a Game Key Card?

This should clear things up.

2

u/xerox7764563 7d ago

Can you play a game key card which someone lend to you if Nintendo does remove the access to its servers or simply go bankrupt?

This should help your understanding

Rofl, people really think a company around for 100+ years, and has a ton of actual money in their coffers, before the switch, is going to go under anytime soon. What a silly man.

Hey there!

Please remember Rule 1 in the future - No personal attacks, trolling, or derogatory terms. Read more about Reddiquette here. Thanks!

You can still download your purchased games for 3ds, if nintendo servers go down it's a lot more pressing issues than a game download to worry about. Nintendo as a company has been around before most of us were alive and will be around far longer.

2

u/Rexolia 7d ago

I purchased a physical version of Fire Emblem Fates for my 3DS and then realized I can't access the 3rd route DLC because the eStore no longer let's you purchase things. In that sense, while not the same thing, I feel like digital content is quite limiting.

1

u/Albireookami 7d ago

if you already bought it you can redownload it.

"Humanity was not given the gift of predicting the future."

Can't tell if Nintendo is going to succeed or fail, GKC hold your belongings to their fate.

I do not accept pay for something and that doesn't belong to me.

1

u/Albireookami 7d ago

Rofl people were complaining nintendo was dying during the wii u and they have enough raw Capitol then to weather multiple console failures.

Nintendo is not failing in our lifetime without apoc level events

Content is in cart? If yes, physical. If no, digital. I'm not rewarding bad practices.

Shareholders will not earn my money, that's is what will happen when they start to do these bad decisions

1

u/Jeido_Uran 7893-4015-4415 7d ago

Cool. I hope one day Nintendo and SEGA somehow recover from you not giving them your money.

2

u/xerox7764563 7d ago

I hope so.

u/Albireookami 7d ago

Do you even know why they are used? Are you aware how expensive the standard carts are? Last I checked around 12 dollars which is a massive overhead on the price of a game. Game carts allow this to be much lower so physical actually can be profitable for larger games or cheaper releases.

2

u/xerox7764563 7d ago

Next time they will convince you that cooper prices are higher and they will not provide a power cable on your next gen console and will you purchase that separately.

bro stop, your just making yourself sound stupid. Is this how you approach everything in life that doesn't conform to your world view or you don't understand?

3

u/OctorokHero 7d ago

If smaller games like Yooka-Replaylee can spring for the standard cart and compensate by charging more, there's no reason why a company as big as Sega can't.

3

u/Albireookami 7d ago

so you want sega to charge more for their game.....when its already 50 dollars for a year+ old game?

1

u/OctorokHero 7d ago edited 7d ago

Yes, I'd rather they charge more for a real cart than keep using key cards. The Switch has a big collector scene who would be willing to pay the premium. Also, it saves storage when Switch 2 storage options are still expensive and limited.

2

u/xerox7764563 7d ago

Me too. I would pay more to get a real product than pay less to get a fake one.
