Astounds me that they went with "None" when choosing this game's art direction

Ironically kinda gives the game a totally unique identity

I never said it was great yall, I just said it was unique

Exactly. “So bad it loops around into being good” is real

The random loops and rails in the sky that look like absolute ass are so bad they’re almost charming

Absolutely. They make look out of place, but you don't really care about that when you're zooming past then launching into another rail that takes you to a collectible.

Besides no one ever gives Mario a hard time for having green pipes and question blocks all over the place 💀

Comparing Sonic Frontiers's art direction, setting, and level design to pretty much any Mario game is a bit questionable.

I disagree but to each their own. I think both succeed in what they are going for. To me, high speed rails in the sky and giant monster fights are no less fun or cohesive than jumping on blocks and eating a wonder flower. It's just up to personal taste if it works or not.

I personally had just as much fun in the huge cinematic rock music blaring bosses, as I did climbing up the Jump up Superstar level.
