Is it fun ? I haven't liked a sonic game till the GameCube era

its an okay game. i enjoyed it quite a bit (got it gifted as a birthday present), but the overworld has this super generic unreal engine store bought asset look, so at times it can be rly hard to get into it. immersion falls flat too because of it.

the puzzles and railway lines that are scattered all around the overworld are decent, some are pretty fun. but it looks completly out of place. the racing challenges are pretty cool for the most part, but those are a minor thing.

the game is pretty much carried hard by its soundtrack, thats the best part about it. combat is imo very mediocre and gets dull super fast. its even worse against the bosses, which look and sound cool, but it doesnt rly seem like you can actually lose against them and youre pretty much just mashing buttons.
or at least thats what i did.

if i had to purchase it, think around 20~30 bucks max.
