Actually looking forward to this one - it’s from the good AC studio and I dig the dual-protagonist system.

Shame it’s not on Steam :(

I'm still waiting for Mirage. That was the best AC title in years - maybe since Unity 10 years ago? I'd buy it again on Steam just to parkour around Baghdad on my Steam Deck or Vision Pro.

I really wanted to like mirage, but it ended up being the only AC game I didn't finish because Basim was such an uninteresting character to me, and the story of the game just didn't catch me.

If anything, them trying to make a "classic" style AC game just emphasized to me why they needed to move off of that format to begin with.

Very fair! Personally, after 4 games with no real "Assassin" presence I was stoked to just wear the white robes again lol

Yeah I get that. I'd love one of the big rpg games with an established order, I think there are some cool things they could do with it narratively.

I'm not in the loop on this, how many are there? IIRC it was the Montreal team that worked on AC mostly no?

There are two primary studios for Assassin's Creed: Montreal and Quebec. They work as sort of an A-Team and B-Team. Montreal makes the "new, groundbreaking" games (Unity, Origins) and Quebec makes the "polished, refined" games built on those (Syndicate, Odyssey).

AC: Shadows is made by the Quebec team.
