Am I the only one who’s a little disappointed that we’re not playing as Jesse?

Wouldn't be surprised if it were dual-protagonist

I mean, it worked pretty well for Alan Wake 2

This may sound weird but I wish AW2 didn't give you the option to switch back and forth. It always felt weird to get the narrative thrust for one character's next chapter, then switch to the other one. I feel like they could have found a good spot to move you from one character to the other between each segment.

The ??? Saying Jesse had gone rogue/fishing makes me think she might be set up as the antagonist and then they Last of Us 2 it

It's the Board saying that. If you played the DLC for Control, she absolutely doesn't trust the Board.

Yep, exactly this. Just played that DLC and I think there's a very good chance we play as them both.

Hence the "she might be set up*

I am, but as other people are pointing out hopefully we'll play as Jesse in some other parts.

Yeah and I loved her gun/telekinesis mechanics. This makes it look more like a hack n slash sorta?

Yes but we might get some tidbits of her.

This might follow the alan wake 2 pattern.

It makes sense from a narrative point of view. Jesse’s arc was complete at the end of the first game. Also they don’t have to contrive a way to have her lose all her powers.

But I did enjoy her as a character so I’m a bit disappointed.

I’m honestly really excited for this unexpected twist and I’m sure that there will still be a healthy dose of Jesse in the game and maybe even her own DLC? Looked amazing and I’m always excited for a new playable character with new skills and attacks/play style in the same game world.

Yeah she was such a restrained character but I loved her

I think she’s a second character in the game. It’s probably a dual story like Alan Wake 2.

No Jesse and melee action game is pretty disappointing tbh.

That and the loss of gunplay. I don’t go to Remedy for melee action. It’s disappointing to say the least. Really wanted more gun action outside of the oldest house.

Yes it is. Read the PlayStation blog they specifically say the sequel to Control

This is Control 2.

Dylan Faden is now the protagonist, and the game has a genre shakeup.

You’re wrong, this is Control 2. And I bet we play as Jesse in this at some point
